It may give you a few ideas.
Nice mine wont be that flash ill have straight pipes into 4 into 1 collector to a 2 inch outlet but will be clamped not one piece so later I can build equal length headers if required.

    Another K100 project in Welly

Well I'm doing the same thing as you and I'm at about the same stage by the looks of things.
I picked up my donor K100 on Saturday and did the quick strip down on Sunday. Yours in in way better condition than mine but
    https://www.facebook.com/malcolm.tho...3701416&type=1

I haven't been on KB for ages and only really came looking to see what info I could find on local cafe projects.
Think I will start a project post in here as well.

Be good to see a couple of cool K100's on the road eh?
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.

I cant see the facebook link. Watch the thread and ill put photo of the collector on when I collect it. You could ask the guy to do another on if you like it.

PM me and ill give you his details if you want them.

Maybe when you in Welly next you should come over and share ideas.

Did you get the black k100rs that Pat was selling?

Also if you selling road parts theres a few after parts also. Someone bought a ex cop k1100 and is after dual seat and fairings etc.

Nope didn't get the one Pat was selling. Mine has been sitting in a shed since unloved since 2010.
Mine is parked up in Welly at my work, so yeah be good to catch up and share some ideas. Will send a PM

The bike clinic racer has rear sets made of approximate 8mm alloy plate with what appear to be dirt bike serrated footpegs on them. I would be happy to duplicate them onto cardboard & get them to you.
There are multiple holes to put the pegs exactly where you want them.
Having said that, they're fairly industrial & nowhere near as cool as those though.

Thanks I think ill end up getting the set as its easier for me to do a few callouts and pay for them.
I called my workmate and asked if I could do his on call next weekend while he is away trials biking. Should cover the rearsets in callouts.

My list of money spending priority parts are.

    rearsets
    tail
    clip-ons
    koko speedo unit
    quality muffler
    paintjob
    maybe new cam covers also.

Rest of the project shouldn't be to expensive.
Realistic budget is 1200 purchase plus 2000-2500 mods.
Should be a fun bike for the total.

Lucky thing is it has the 4 pot brembos and a near new hagon adjustable rear shock already.

Plan to keep it long term and register 3 months per year in summer.

Didn't have a lot of time today.

Pulled the airbox out. Found a variable airflow valve and intake air sensor system inside the top half that is required to run.
Reinstalled it onto the intake turning it 90deg. Will need to make my own air filter mounting plate to take a pod before the valve and also a support for the rear.
The room gained behind the radiator will become the location of the radiator overflow bottle and relays required to remove the stock speedo unit and maybe the battery for the bike if its not going under the tail cone. The original airbox base mount holes are ideally placed for a battery base plate or tray.

Visit to Repco and Supercheap and no pods small enough so tardme and maybe some bike shop visits needed.

Second photo shows the entrance for the intake valve some will need make plate larger than original with same square hole but outside that a pipe for pod filter. Going to need be smaller than the mounting screws in photo 3. Ordered K&N pod

Question. Repainting wheels is powdercoat the way to go or not?
Wonder what he'd charge for a 2 into 1 with a right hand exit for a BMW airhead. If I was still in Welly I'd be over to see him.

All the aftermarket airhead stuff exits on the left cause thats what the GS models do, but if I do it I want it on the opposite side to the sidecar so on the right.

2 into one wouldn't be so bad idd say. The 4 into one headers are very small and need to be custom made as the are not in a square pattern.
He would need see the bike as hes a retired custom flow builder for cars and bikes are not his normal business.

What is it within people wing with K's at the moment?
I'm doing one too. Made the collector last weekend, 4 into 1 into 2 just to be different.

Standard 32mm exhaust piping, 1.6mm wall, is an almost perfect slip fit over the stock headers

Nice I was looking at some pipes like that on trade me I think for 80 each yesterday and was thinking along the same lines.
Then I spotted http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=774807984 and had a go at buying but the reserve is almost the buy now ($453)which is above my funds for today. I think my build will take a while. Mortgages tend to ruin cash flow.

Since you're in Wellington, go see/ring Jay at TSS and see if he can get these mufflers for you or something similar that you like. If you really wanted, I could make a collector for you, along the lines of what I made, would probably be around a similar price to what you've been told already. Best thing is, I have the bike here to use as the template.

Mossy, for what it's worth, the above mentioned Jay at TSS actually owns the bike clinic K100, I'm just doing the resto for him.

I think my retired guy Malcolm in Churton Park has already finished mine I just haven't called him yet.
There was a café racer that had a supertrap on it that I liked when I was googling also. I might leave the mid pipe and muffler until after the BSK rearsets so I can check the room.
