It's nice to see the English Rugby team finally decided to play Rugby - would have been nice however if they had done it 2-3 weeks ago
And my heart goes out to Japan - 3 points was all that stood between them and advancing - I am super stoked to see how they will do in the 2019 RWC - when it is on their home turf.
France possibly playing the ABs in a World Cup knockout match (but not in the finals) - I'd be worried NZ, France have one of the highest win rates against the ABs when it comes to world cup matches....

I wouldn't be so confident - If the ABs are on form, then it is likely that the French will loose, but despite Steve Hansen's assurances - they ring a little hollow for me, we aren't seeing the clean precise execution that we saw in AB Vs Aus in the 2011 WC (which IMO was the best game of Rugby and performance by the ABs I've ever seen) - sure they could be holding back, but how can you hold back things like basic handling errors and sloppy execution of set peices?!?
Also - I have a gut instinct we may see Australia in the final - they haven't won since 1999 and haven't been to a final since 2003, and there are few things more dangerous than an Aussie side that everyone has written off or dismissed.

Penalties are beginning to rule - hope it doesn't degenerate into the "Referees World Cup"Hours and hours of replays lawyers and court cases!
FFS!
Realised yesterday that that is why I get frustrated watching rugby but not league or football (soccer). At least in those sports free kicks / penalties are generally pretty obvious. I've probably seen 50 penalties from scrums in this world cup and have had to rely on the commentators to find out what any of them were for. I also hate the penalties after long advantages for technical offences that didn't affect play. And kneeling on players at the back of a ruck so they can't get away and thereby getting a penalty. And bloody boring lineout drives! My word ... I think I'm going to be a very good 'grumpy old man' in a few years.

Apparently one commentator said of the England game this morning, 'The first step to winning in 2019'.
