Looking more and more like the US election will be a contest between two equally senile old men.

If he sells property he will have to pay city and state taxes on the proceeds, which means to raise half a billion he'll need to sell nearly a billion worth of property.

Cohen doesn't think Mar A Lago will be a target because that is not in New York and thus would involve another lengthy court case.

Trump does have a very serious money problem. It has been reported that Trump and Elon Musk are to meet. Trump is to meet the world's second richest man. I wonder what they will talk about?
This is how smart successful people operate. You only ever keep enough cash to service immediate or pending obligations. Surplus cash is used as a deposit to secure more loans to buy assets.
Unfortunately as average people are taught debt is a burden you are maki g the mega bank rich buy using them etc…
Even most successful NZ companies use overdraft facility to pay wages every week.
Every day that you have cash sitting in a bank account is bleeding value through the floorboards at whatever the current rate of inflation is.

Right upp to the point the bank feel their money is at risk or could be earning more elsewhere. Is your own house mortgage free? If so, then by you own words, you are not smart, If not, better hope that you continue to have a job.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

A house mortgage is one of the few sensible financial decisions us average joes make in nz. Mines cheaper than equivalent rent so I stress not if things go tits up.
We live in a country free from the strife and threats other nations face.
There are no shortages of jobs or opportunity in this nation only not enough people seeking it.

But back to Trump, read his book look at his successes and fails.
He doesn’t get hung up on it he just moves to next opportunity in life. That’s the attitude successful people have. They don’t get angry or waste time worrying about what advantages or greater wealth others have, they just seek the tools and opportunity to outdo others.
It’s the greatest tragedy of our time that we are currently teaching an ethic of guilt for being successful instead of replicating nature survival of the fittest.

Debt to buy income producing assets is acceptable if you are in business (unless it's a residential rental in which case you are evil) and having cash on hand adds no value.

Your average person is not in business, so debt produces no income (and is not tax deductible) so only serves to provide income for the banks, whereas cash does produce income.

Of course Trump doesn't have the money, that's part of the point of the trial, that he inflated the value of assets to obtain loans which likely exceeded the real value of the security. In terms of asset value less debt his actual net worth may be bugger all.

It's a great example of sociopathic behaviour, as long as your business failure only hurts others and not yourself it's all good, and move on to the next thing.

It's virtually impossible to argue with R666. His messiah could shoot him in main street and he would hit the floor still not understanding that he's the chump that's been sacrificed.

And so it was rite. Amen.

So the cunt needs to sell an asset or two, boo freaking hoo.
Mark my words, even if he could put up the money, he won't because the evidence is so damming, it is why they did not try to rebut any of it. He just turned the trial into a campaign op. You may not have noticed that his lawyer did not actually put up any evidence to counter the charges as there is no evidence to the contrary. He is guilty as fuck - end off.

The thing I find most amazing is the turd tells everyone what he is doing, such as "When you are famous you can grab any woman by the pussy etc". Then when he actually gets called on it, his cult followers are all like "Nooooo he did not do that thing he told us he would do".
    Pitiful and pathetic.

You still haven't got the joke? Trump has never written a book. When one publisher was asked how much of the book Trump wrote the reply was,
"He never even wrote us a Christmas card."

He sued the author of one of "his" books for saying he wasn't a billionaire - and lost.

As of now E Jean Carroll can start seizing Trump assets to the value 83.3 million dollars. His lawyer has just written to the judge asking for a three day delay. That's the same Judge that Trump has repeatedly called corrupt (well, one of them). That's the same Trump that his lawyer claims has billions and billions and billions of dollars.

Following his meeting with Trump, Musk posted on X that he will not be donating to either presidential candidate. That leaves many options though. He may donate to a PAC, he could pay legal fees, he might act as guarantor for a loan, etc etc.

Trump seems to have confused the legal process with a negotiation. That's not how it's supposed to work.

Update: The judge has denied Trump's request for a stay. The judge states Trump's problems are caused by his own dilatory behaviour. In English, he's too effing slow.

Update2: Trump has borrowed the $91.6 million bond to enable him to appeal.

The Mrs showed me a short video clip on TwitX

Trump was railling on in his usual manner and then started to speak softly mumbling a word salad that made less than usual sense and stared slightly upwards.
This went for about five seconds before he came back to the moment.

I have heard of brain farts before but this looked like a brain dump...something is wrong, very wrong, bigly wrong even.

I look forward to the next episode.

Trump has lost another court case. One he didn't even need to take. It was an action against former MI6 officer Christopher Steele. It seems Trump was after Steele for spreading stories about pee tapes and such. The case failed for two reasons: Steele did not spread the word about Trump. It was his document but he did not publish it or make it public. The leak happened in 2016 and the judge said Trump had left it too long.

He has to pay Steele's legal team about US$300,000 plus whatever his own legal geniuses charge.

So Trump was ultimately held responsible for the leak.

That's OK re his own legal team. I can't imagine they would expect payment. No one could after his continuous leaving people in the lurch.
