Ride was great. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

It was weird riding in a group that large though. Constantly wondering what and where people were doing around you. It was all good once I decided to just make my own space and tear off up a head a bit.

Wasnt such a smart idea on the way back. After the bit of road that had new seal on I stopped to see if anyone would come unstuck on it (as I nearly did), as soon as the first rider came around the corner I took off again. I thought you guys were right behind me. Was I ever wrong.

And to top that, I wasnt listening to the directions and went to the wrong Ale House

Aside from that it was an excellent ride and I will definitly be there in the future when I can.

Yea the Kats always a talking point. Its a pity they dont make bikes like they used to. Modern styling has nothing on the older stuff.

As for the hills, it was a nice view and I figured it maybe a while before I see something like that again so I made the most of it.

Nice to meet you all, tried to say hi to a few, but hard when you get chatting to some. Couldn't stay for the last bit to Speights, had animals to look after, thats life I guess.
Good Job Phoenix and DE... Tho I'm a bit glad I was last to leave and had a good run thru the old Taitapu road. So even tho we got separated, still made it to the right spot in the end. Its very difficult to keep large groups together thru town, thats the only problem with starting in the middle of town. Maybe a meeting place near the outskirts of town? just a thought...

    Great pics guys

Really? Technically I am still married but not to the ginga grand-daddy...

Funny aint it... You help people out by going to their BBQ's to say hi, answering their PMs with as much info as you are able, even offer up the possiblity that limiting ya 'club' to cruiser riders is gonna make it difficult for non 'cruisers' to join and then ya get blocked (get ya minds outa the gutter you horrible lot)... Guess he's got a bit to do to settle comfortably into the Kiwi culture of stirring and positive feedback (pt) yet.

    ah well, no loss there.

SGC god shit?, kind out of touch there mate, SGC doesnt actually have anything to do with that.

I make no pretenses that i know it all, which you would have got if you had reread my post. but, what is wrong with following someone's lines and helping out if they ask. i thought you with your 200,000kms and 20years riding experience blah blah, would be happy to share some tips you have, instead of being a wanker and flacking off anyone who is trying to help a fellow biker

Guilty as charged. Its a naked XJ750, there are still some around with a partial fairing arrangement, I prefer the look of it like that (the fairing is in the garage).

Some may have heard me say at the Speights pub that my bike had developed an odd noise, today has been spent replacing the front wheel bearings and fixing the speedo cable drive, it was a tad messy in there.

I cant remember everyone's names but I said to someone I might have a tail light assembly that would fit, could you please PM me and we will arrange a day to see if we cant graft this on to your bike.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

    What year is your one?

And now that I've looked more closely, I meant the third one over to the left from your XJ

Wow what a great turnout u had, can u post some pics on the other forums too?

Just for the record: Even though dangerous is a complete tosser he does have a wealth of riding experience and I’ve said it before and no doubt I’ll say it again... i've learnt a lot from following and watching how dangerous rides on the road and its help me a lot. So if you get the chance and want to learn more about riding, best road lines and general tips then dont be shy, improve your riding and be safer... just ask the old gumpy tosser!
