Yeah I love wheelies, when I see bigger bikes coming up behind me I'm always hoping they'll put on some speed and rip past (unlikely cos they probably are on-to-it and maybe aren't sure if I haven't seen them or something). Anyone see's me on my bike feel free to pull out a big fat wheelie as you pass!

I agree that if you find yourself in a good learing headspace in the right spot with no-one around giving stuff a go is good. I borrowed a rally car I used to have access to and took my wifes brothers out to some gravel pits and let them lock it up and steer at the same time for a day. One of them had an incident not long after where he recons not being scared to hit the picks hard and fast saved his life.

If you get out of your comfert zone and start riding stiff your more likely to upset your bike in a corner, need to keep your head and get happy when stuff goes down.
I'm selling my new riding gear!! Only worn a few times get a deal Kiwibikers!!

Stunting is like drifting in the car world. The people that do it think they are shit hot and that everybody wishes they could be just like them... while others who are not impressed with what seems like a total waste of time and money think they are just a bunch of wankers.

What do you think about drifting? Do you think it is cool or wank?

(Please, anybody feel free to answer this question)

Before I start... what an apt name you have chosen...

Firstly, stunting is not like drifting in cars - stunting on a bike requires skills - drifting just requires expenditure.

Secondly, it's about many things, but impressing others is not often one of them. It's about entertaining and adrenaline and fun. I suspect you're secretly impressed but pissed you can't do anything but commute to work - hence your comments.

For the record, I'm no wheelie master - I wasn't bad off road and the ZZR will certainly do it despite it's length and weight but I generally prefer the enjoyment of a power stand over the crest of a hill to outright balanced long distance monos. But that doesn't mean I bleat about people doing something I don't personally get any significant joy from like you. You don't see me putting down your crochet club.

You won't understand that enjoyment until you overcome your sphincter tightening and irrational fear of the front wheel leaving the tarmac. It's a great feeling to do a well controlled stand. It's shows man's mastery of his machine. If you don't push your limits you'll never become a skilled and relaxed but alert rider with a big grin. You'll always just a passenger along for the ride.

If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

    Tend to disagree there somewhat.

I like doing wheelies because it is a new skill to attempt to master. Once you think you've got it sorted and are pretty big, someone like Jason from Asphalt Assault comes and serves you some come uppance big time. Also, it's one of the few motorcycling skills that's easy to measure your skill increase with.

As for your other statement, I actually started racing so other people wiould think I'm cool and wanna be like me. It's obviously working.

It's an awesome display of car control when they get it right.

Edit: Just realised you're still smarting after I drew peoples attention to the chicken strips your SV so proudly wears. Man, I'm sorry. From your uneducated ramblings, I thought you might actually be able to corner. Guess not. My bad.

BS. If anything drifting has more skills relative to road use. Stunting is virtually irrelevant for useful road skills.

It seems that some of you people cannot simply comprehend that some other people are not impressed at all with stunting. Therefore we are not jealous or inspirer for such "amazing skills" either. This is a delusion you have created in your own mind.

And what makes you think that I don't enjoy power stands over crests when hard charging over my favourite set of twisties??? Because I am not into poping wheelies while going past cars on the motorway, I am some kind of pussy that can't ride a bike???
