So you are referring to the Beemer now.
We both know that I have Mitchies on the Trumpy, but I thought this was an off-seal thread. Oh and I am behind everybody, so that doesn't count.
    Is it raining there yet?
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

The bach is kind of on the beach near the Mohaka river mouth, off hwy 2, 30 km south of Wairoa. There's a cliff out front so you have to go down the road a little way to find the track to the beach. The fishing is allegedly pretty good so the keen fishos in the crew might want to bring their tackle.

    Cheers
    Clint

    Re fishing.
Do you know if the mouth of the Mohaka is open salt fishing, (as in Kahawhai, Gurnard etc), or does the Fly Fishing zone extend down to the mouth?
I havn't got the skill or patience to fly fish, but will throw a soft bait on a line to entice a juicy Kahawhai onto a barbie plate.
Will bring the two piece rod and reel set if its open salt.

What a shame you dont fly fish Brent. You had plenty of time last Saturday to throw a line out out while you were trying to show the rest of us how NOT to cross a river on a bike! Although I suppose the sight of a Triumph Scrambler being swept down stream would scare the fish away?

None of the Mohaka is fly only so definitely bring along the rod. Mmmm... Kahawai... I think the bro might have a smoker out there too...

    Cheers

Not as much as the reflection of that god awful Orange paint on your top heavy bus.
Ya could use it for a Solar Panel.

The only thing that makes my bike top heavy is the inept fool trying to ride it!

And what may look like heavy fuel tanks are in fact cunningly designed flotation devices ready for when I come to grief in the water

    Clint,
I plan to be there if I can. I have never done the Waikaremoana road and am really keen to do so. However. It's just too soon to say whether I can make it at the moment, so I will make a call a bit closer to the event.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
