Perhaps you had good intentions, but it comes across as tactless at best, and arrogant, condescending, and "holier than thou" if taken at face value.
Does the above get your attention?

Don't forget to get a purple crayon!

Now - you should be very clear and concise in your wording. Something like, "Hey, ya cunt! Give me a raise or I'll throw a brick through your window!" should do it.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

I have the crayon already - thats all they allow us to write with here (nothing sharp).

Given that the message is already on a brick that has been thrown thru the window saying "or I'll throw a brick through your window" kind of superfilious?

what about ""Hey, ya cunt! Give me a raise or Ill come back and nail your cat to the bonnet of your car!"

You might try, "Hey ya cunt, you're not being honest with yourself about your reason for not giving me a raise. Too many bosses blame their employees for the lack of profitability of their businesses. They're just making excuses for their own inadequacies."

Perhaps it would be best to not sign it.
Or just sign it with a "X", or with "A concerned and underpaid employee who fancies the look of your pussy".
Or you could just throw a random selection of bricks and random messages through the window on random nights, and eventually he'll give everyone a raise.

... but what if the 'prove yourself' relates to safe riding skills?

I wasn't calling Katman out to prove how fast he could ride a motorcycle. If I'd been doing that, I'd have invited him to the next drag session at Meremere or the trackday on Friday (although he seems to be doing a good job of inviting himself to that - should I call you to pick him up from A&E afterwards, or does he have someone more local that can sort him out?)

No, I was calling him out to show me precisely what makes him such an authority on the subjects he endlessly hammers on about on this forum.

I mean, does the guy even ride that old thing of his much?

I'm sure you'll be able to ask him next time you run into each other!
My response to badjelly is that the word "proving" can easily degenerate into something that may not have been initially intended, especially if those doing the "proving" to each other are not exactly best buds. It takes two (or more) mature people to ensure that it doesn't. I have no problems riding with him, and i'm sure his courtesy as a rider isn't just cos I'm his sis. He's been riding many years (well over half his life) so i'm sure he's learnt some important stuff along the way. (And no, that wasn't intended to imply that you haven't).

not that i'm aware of, but then i didn't know of his "terminal illness" either. Amazing what you can learn on the internet isn't it.

Hey, we're all terminally ill, right? Life's an inevitably-fatal disease...

I've suggested Katman orginise a suitable ride, failing that incorporate one in one of the KB rides, yet no response.

    What's the problem?

Maybe he's still doing his hair and nails?
Maybe one day he'll surprise the daylights out of everyone and do it. Let's just hope that if he does the shock isn't so great that those who most eager don't have heart failure as a result and end up missing out!
