Your message is now that it's ok to do what we like as long as we admit we are responsible if it goes wrong.....?

Nope, the young crowd never has listened and never will! At least not until they've had an experience to help them put themselves into a realistic perspective. I state this based on experience.

Also, the vaguely hinted at threats of physical harm in meatspace are getting pretty old.

Sounds fair, Theres nothing worse than some idiot that continually comes undone wether it be on a bike or just life in general & dosent accept any responsibility for it at all, or worse still, creates lies that they actually believe to make it all everyone elses fault.

Thank you Mikkel, sounds not unlike another post I made the other night about the dilemma of some just having to learn the hard way. But I'm sure there are some (young and older) who are not completely resistant to learning from others. The trick is to weigh it, sift it and (oh no, got sidetracked by thoughts of baking just then) and determine whether it's applicable to yourself and then act accordingly, or file for future reference.

According to The Great Pussy(insert "bowing" smilie here), it is applicable to all of us, cos we all ride like idjits, with no regard for other road users, our fellow motorcyclists, indeed , even our own life! Apart from him of course, he's perfect! (apparently)

Well, there are many ways you can have an eye-opening experience. It's not always necessary to break skin and bones to realise that it's time to STFU, STFD and LTFC.

Also, it's not always a lacking willingness to listen, sometimes it's just not realising that there's something worth listening to.
And Katman, while your message is mostly good - your delivery is not worth listening to. In that way you just come across as another resentful old man with a stick up his arse that isn't worth listening to. I've met a few of those I think - but I can't say for sure since I tend to forget about people like that pretty quickly.

Preaching just doesn't work with young people and thinking adults - just accept it and move on.

You are a troll, sir, a troll of the highest order and the worst sort, fit for nothing but the online garbage disposal unit.

Either that, or your words are truly motivated by your thoughts and feelings, in which case you're just a sociopathic wackjob.
