    Serious question serious answer.
    Take it as honest advice.
    1) get your meds sorted out maybee buy an alarm watch to remind ya.
    2) get the fuck outa a situation where you are sorounded by losers.
    3) Theres a bunch of people just on here who have offered to help you out and be a positive influence in your life.Take em up on the offer
    3) take "the job" take any job. Flipping burgers pays $12 an hour now
4)I'd also suggest joining the armed forces. I think it would put structure into your life which would help.
But basicly if you have the two choices and only the two choices--Go down country take the job
12 months licence less isn't 12 months now --must be about 10 surely

don't bother mark, you're just going to go back on the dole anyway.

dole is easier than working isnt it?
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

I'm prepared to bet a box of the beer of the recipient's choice that Mark will choose to...

    ... do absolutely nothing.

Does anyone have enough faith in post-adolescent Aspies to take me up on that bet?

Agree with this too. If you are going nowhere, it is largely because your 'friends' aren't either.
Nothing changes unless you change things.

if i waited around and asked other people what i should do with my life, i would never get anywhere. ya gotta grab the bull the by the horns and jump in boots first.
when i was 19, i made up my mind i was gonna go to canada. dunno where the idea came from, it just did. i saved hard and fucked off for 6 months.
ever seen a white chirstmas? the most beautiful thing in the world, let me assure you. had i not gone, id be kicking myself. as it is, im doing just that for coming home again.
same with going down to invers for the burt munro... should i, shouldnt i? in the end, i booked the time off work, booked the ferry, loaded the bike and went. most awesome time of my life, and again, if i coulda stayed, i would have. instead, i make do with travelling down there every year, cos i know ill regret it if i miss a year. this year will be hard, as i wont have my partner with me, but if i dont go, itll be the worst decision ever.

i dont know where exactly greta valley is, but if its in the south island, go for it! yes, itll be bloody cold, but thats what thermals are for. shovelling a driveway is a great way to go from freezing to sweating in 5 minutes.
itll likely do you the world off good to get away from everyone and everything.
but, take frostys advice first: sort out YOUR essentials like any meds etc, and then go. you wont be any good to anyone if you aint right with meds etc. get an alarm and set it.

I would not be surprised if your right, but when people say "you will fail" they usually do.

As hard as it is, this guy needs some positive people in his life right now. His flatmates are pretty much scum and the area he's in is pretty rotten.

Mark if you can find a nice house on the shore I would seriously consider it. I am sure with my background it would work.

I've had my private conversations with Mark; he knows my thoughts on the matter, and he knows I'm not all about squashing him.

I still think he's probably going to fail to get off his arse, though. That's not said with any rancour; just with an understanding of what drives him.

Put it this way - if Mark does anything other than continue to sit in bed on the dole, posting threads like this on KB once every couple of months, it'll surprise the hell out of me.

If the Greta Valley that you are talking about is the one near Scargill on SH1 between Waipara and Cheviot then do it - that is the most beutiful awesome country. It's actually not that far from places. Cheviot is a major centre and Waipara is just down the road. Both are closer to Greta Valley than Nasty and I are from Wellington city where we go to work each day. I know which commute I'd rather be doing!

This is a great opportunity for an adventure Mark. Adventures are cool. At your age you can have adventures as things like relationships, kids and houses are the things that make it hard to do. There's no better time in your life to do this. Auckland isn't that far away when you can get $59 fares on grabaseat.

I honestly think that you will really enjoy it and the lifestyle is something half the world is trying to get into NZ to enjoy.
