I must confess that I do miss the wind in my hair but if I had the choice now I'd forgo the wind and go for safety.

Besides (and I'm just guessing here) you don't have so much hair these days to feel the wind in?

I don't remember the silk scarves, so perhaps you're a bit older than me. This sounds a bit dangerous in itself: you'd have to be careful not to go the way of Isadora Duncan:

    Above was a biker's answer.
    This is a KBBD answer.

Everyone who paid big bucks for a 'safety' car has the same ACC levy gripe about anyone who rides a motorcycle. ATGATT or not.

Anyone who rides is either unaware of the undoubtedly heightened risk that this type of transportation entails - or understands it and values the enjoyment, utility, convenience, economy, social, or whatever factor higher than the heightened risk.

Risk mitigation beyond the statutes in this free society is personal choice.

I can't ride in shorts, freaks me. But this rooster might have just been running around the block to dry it like he's been doing every weekend for 30 years.

will add to this later - gotta work.

I could not afford silk. I had to settle for a nice woolly one knitted by my mother.

The pudding basins were considered wimpish, more odd really, like wearing a crash helmet when driving a car would be now, but when the first jet types came out, wearing one was a sure invitation to be stopped by the snakes, who regarded them as denoted a 'racer'. Right up until the became compulsory wearing one was regarded as sending a message "I am going to break the speed limit every chance I get". Like wearing racing leathers now days

The Redneck, you sound just like a middle aged, ugly, man hating lesbian that works for the Government.

Some Redneck you are. More like a pencil dick if you ask me.
