And i am pretty sure thats the way we came back last week, anyone else remember? i was concentrating on the corners rather than the geography![]()

I would assume you are talking about Harbour rd & Te Anga rd's which will lead you to Waitomo were we came out last week?? if so, Yes this road is sealed all the way to Waitomo. When you arrive here instead of heading to main SH3 which we did on last run you can turn on to Fullerton rd follow to Oparure rd onto Mairoa rd pop into Pio pio then boggie back to TK that way.
All good![]()
All this talk about having a committee to decide on a route for a paticular ride seems a little over the top,i agree that our rides maybe need to be organised a bit better especially with the amount we have and everyone has an idea on a route at some time so maybe the easy way to do it is to nominate a different person to plan a ride and route each week so that everybody has a chance to have an input into our group and if the developing riders are not comfortable with leading the group on there ride then they can nominate someone else to lead and follow the route they have planned. This is just a thought off the top of my nogging, what do all you guys think.maybe this idea is crap and if so i apologise for being daft.![]()
Sweet cheerz man i thought it was where we went last week, loved that ride, my only worry is that it might just be a bit too much twisties for my headso a swim in the middle might be in order!
Sounds pretty cool, i don't think its a daft plan at all. We should all sit around and put our heads together on how to organize it tho.
I don't want these rides to become too prescribed, simplicity is what has made them great so far, the first few rides we only really had a direction in mind, now we are setting maps with waypoints, talking about front leaders, middle leaders and tail riders.
If our group gets too big and needs organising maybe we need to have a couple of smaller relaxed groups.
Anyways, i think for a start we should split the general with the specifics, perhaps leave this thread for talking and shit-slinging and start a new one for routes and planning, wont need to start the planning thread till after the 7th anyways.

On a different note, i am putting together some longer routes (600km and more) with the idea of doing weekend trips or possibly longer.
Just wondering how many people would be keen on that sort of weekend ride?
One that i am planning to do (even by myself) is my taranaki loop which i would do over saturday & sunday staying in New plymouth or waitara with family or backpackers.
I am planning to do this one mid january to mid feb.

lets form a committee to talk about forming a thread on routes etc and why can't we get a consultant to advise on the best possible ramification scenario which meets resourcial consensual liabilities, while of course meeting all statuatory limitations within and accredited tertiary approved systematic scheme.
Oh stuff it lets just go for a bike ride

Life would be so much easier if you addressed questions with a simple answer.
haha na it is a good idea. With Koz on keeping it simple. I don't think the "commitee" suggestion was a "let's take minutes" formal style, more of a "you 3 have been picking routes so far, so keep doing it and we'll follow ya. Let us know if you need a hand" type of thing. Did I get that right?
I'd be keen for that type of shenanigans. Although if Brooke hasn't told her parents about her bike we may have to stay away from New Plymoth
Ooo I can't wait for her to read this post tonightJust to help her out, does anyone want to ring her parents and tell them that she's a biker chick? haha They'll ask me if I got her into it or something.
Oh that's right about the new thread. I heard this site is getting updated and the social group thing will be similar to this. I don't know when it's happening but I read a thread about it the other day in Site Stuff. It would be good to know cause then this can be route planning and the social group can be for bullocks like the original plan was.
I think Metal Pants or Mental Trousers ()or someone like that (admin person) was saying it.
This is the thread I was thinking of http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=83046. Wysper asked a question but hasn't been answered on it. I may have misinterupted what they meant by "threaded". Is that what it is at the moment or is it more like this?
Cool, will keep you posted on taranaki, we may even pick up a few along the way, its a pretty cool road, i am sure with notice we can take over the lounge/lawn of people i know down there
Its tempting to start up a forum of my own, i have the servers with the horsepowerthen we could have 100s of threads if needed of course everyone's here so we should move
