    Awwww....waddamisaying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Anyone looks stupid in tassels!!!!!
Hey, easy ya culturally insensitive Arrowtownian type, the tassles are a legacy from a history of us Scotsmen being forced to wear rags and tatters by the English invaders, we wear tassles as a modern version of those ragged clothes as an indication of how we were invaded and displaced into poverty by the English..........

Maybe we should have got a treaty instead..

Yes. I have one. A very good grand tourer, though not really a cruiser in the "classic" definition

hee hee... quitely... right. Your gonna have to speak up dude, i cant hear you over the harely down the road.

Cruiser, sports bike, trail bike... its two wheels.

Virago, people (or atleast i would) ride sports bikes because A) they like the look of the bike B) they enjoy an occasionall #cough# fang on the back roads C) flickability rocks and D) (this ones my personal favourite) because they can.

I aint being mean or nothing. but stop being a motorcycle-ist-racist-person...

i shall qoute the book of denden: He who is on two wheels (and not on a scooter) is my brother... or a mate i can share my beer with.

as for sport bike riders... cruiser are just cool okay! they just rock!
I would love to get a vn1500 or a dyna but seeing as new zealand roads are arse, ill probably end up with a gsxr750 or a blade. Cruiser are popular in america because the roads are all c*nting straight! theres no (practical) use for a sports bike on long trips. However, the poor handling of cruisers (compared to a crotch rocket) makes cruisers impracticall on new zealands arser roads. That being said, if you want to be "practical," get a drz400sm...

Each to his own i guess.

    Sports bikes

I guess you have to ride one to know the difference sportsbikes will always be the way for me. Riding with a straight back on a cruiser and hit a jarring bump, it travels up your back. I have tried them out and for the comfort I find leaning forward is far more comfortable, when you are on a sports bike there is no nasty jarring transferred up your spine. They handle better, go faster, lean angles are greater, more fun to ride. It's not all about knee sliding, I think that is reserved for the race track or you will eventually come unstuck and end up splattered across the road. So Mr. Virago if cruisers are for you thats fine but us sports bike riders love what we have and you can only dream about.

Sore Knees, aching wrists, an even sorer back and no demerit points.
Re Upright and dealing with bumps: you noticed the riding position MX, Enduro or motard bikes employ?

OK since you won't take offence:

Not mine - Iabout wasting 2/3rds of the bikes potential by trying to keep my licence nowdays.

100 horsepower, a naked bike, an open face helmet and feeling fast at 110kph makes me grin on the road now.

Every time I get on something like yours it's a constant battle with the speedometer, temptation and the repercussions that takes some of the gloss off it - for me.

But unlike you I have no interest in track days and thats the mitigator.

    Idiots
A recent magazine test showed that a conventional bike will beat a sports bike up a windy road and won't end up in the bushes like a cruiser does when it runs out of ground clearance.
