Thinking about quitting!! (Rated M for swearing)

I have had enoguh of my bloody job. People all hate each other and talk behind everyones back. People yelling at everyone.. fucktard customers. fuctard employees. fucktard machines... lots of fucktards. They don't know the meaning of days off and the ring at 8 oclock in the bloody morning... on a Saturday. I'm thinking of applying at Hallenstiens to see if they treat me any better, if not at least i got discount on jeans. I am determinined to found a way to makelots of mooney without moving however. Wht do you guys think i should do.

I don't really know how bad you've got it but my experience is that there is a whole generation of kiwis coming through that expect a shitload of cash for f*ck all work. AND they expect promotion after 6 months!

I had to work for 10 years before I got any real promotion and I had to work bloody hard.

Tell us what is special about you that makes you that one in 10,000 that should be treated like a young god in the workplace and we'll reply to your poll.

Are you a member of generation x perchance?

sounds like fun. Few issues here. People talking behind your back.. call them on it. In front of other people. Real amusing to see people back pedalling.

Days off? If you have not got a contract which states your days/hours of work then get one. Then work those days

Ringing you up at 8am on a Sat? I assume they are calling you into work when you thought you were going to have the day off. Don't answer the phone.

i dont want a promotion, or a payrise. just some respect. Some more responsibilty would be nice, but not necessartily a raise, just enough to make me feel semi important. Most of the employees are female save two of us (inc me) and am often excluded while the girls chat in the office leaving me to watch counter by myself.

phones in the parent room so not only does it piss them off theres no way to stop them answering, especially as they are both important in the workplaces and it may be for them.

I know nothing of your employment conditions, but I have always had a simple personal rule for work.......If you're not enjoying it - do something else.

Life's way too short to waste it doing work you hate.

So you do your job and you do it well. If customers are left out because you are too busy and other employees are fucking around then the boss will notice eventually. At least then you can say you were doing all you could. You are only one person. Do what you do and let everyone else worry about the rest.

while I dont disagree with what you say I would add to look for another job (if thats what you want to do) while working. Dont just quit and try to find another job. It is much easier to get a job if you already have a job.

Perhaps the girls are nervous of having to attend to the odd customers. What about you make a deal with them? You'll attend to the odd customers, if they'll handle the normal ones? Though 5 or 6 at a time seems a lot of odd customers. Do you work in a sex shop, or a porno magazine place?
