Am also in the looking and I'm currently tending towards a Spidi GranTourismo (Original).
Worth checking out.
Quite a nice tidy & practical jacket.

Did you check out this link to Celtic Leathers?

I really like the Astrosorb armour in his gear. Unobtrusive and secure, but if you pay him a visit, you'll see that for yourself.![]()

Thanks for the feedback and PMs on the what makes a perfect sport touring leather jacket and jeans. Sam at Celtic will have made the gear in 4 - 5 weeks. When I have got the gear I will post a report on it here.
I visited Celtic and took a list of my requirements and some questions on features and design. This is a topic Sam knows a lot about and I was comfortable with advice received and the agreed spec for the jacket and jeans. In answer to some of the questions in my first post and other issues these are some of the design specs.
Jacket
- Jacket front centered zipper with a Velcro closer over the zipper at top
- Collar with a butted finish - (no Velcro or domes as a pain to close).
- Collar lined with neoprene.
- Velcro inside top back and front top to secure a removable fleece neck/chest liner. ( My Triumph jacket had this and it worked well)
- Cuffs - no dome or Velcro closer over zip as is not necessary. (a pain to close)
- Ventilation zips in upper arms and two vertical zips in back of jacket.
- Short zip to tie jacket to jeans
- No waist adjustment as the jacket will be made to fit me.
- Back protection installed
- No external pockets - 4 internal pockets.
- A pocket each side behind the front zip. These have a vertical zip of 180mm opening to pockets 150mm wide by 220mm deep. (just right for wallet, keys phone when leaving the bike and when on the bike I stow that stuff in a tank bag)
- A pocket each side inside the jacket. Closed with a 150mm zip and pocket 200mm deep. Zipper fitted into a robust section of leather so lining doesn't move when the zip is opened or closed.
Jeans
- Jeans - race design without sliders
- High rise
- Full circumference elastic waist
- Dome to close
- No pockets
Safety and protection will be provided to the Celtic standard, which can be reviewed on the site.
Now I wait.
Here for the ride.
Way to go Sinned and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!![]()
