2008 Northern route 1dayers took between 17 and 22 hours (3 different groups did the 1 day run that year).
    2009 some reported 16 hours.
There's no way I could do that safely, even without stopping I wouldn't be able to avoid oncoming traffic/trees or tickets at the speeds required.
My Northern route completion time was about 19 hours, 45 minutes on the DR650 the one time I finished without incident.

We have secured an accomodation block at the Alexandra Holiday Park for Sat night 16th, as an alternative to Moa Pub.
It's a self contained unit designed for groups, with it's own kitchen, ablutions, seperate bedrooms plus a bunk room.
Cost will be $30 incl linen, so you won't have to worry about carrying sleeping bags etc. There's also a secure bike shed.
Will post up more info & booking instructions tonight.

    Welcome aboard.
Regarding reg, you've pretty much registered an expression of interest by posting here. Are you going for the one day ride or the two dayer?
I refer you to parts of post #1, might be nice if you add your name to the appropriate calendar listing as well.

Edit: apparently your name is already on the calendar, good man.

    Final Word
There is no "entry fee", there is no registration, this is not an organised ride in the legal sense. This ride is simply a bunch of people following the same route at their own pace along publicly accessible tracks.....

You have already put your name on the 1 day calendar and if you have been following this thread then you'd done pretty much all you need to do. Just organise your own accomodation and we will see you at the BBQ at the Gladstone hotel (look for all the bikes) onthe 15th. Keep watching this space as there will be a few more developments of the next few weeks.

No we about it! This is all your work but then again so was the Moa Creek Pub It looks like we might have finally cracked the 2 dayers Sat accomidation. Thanks for all your help.

To all others we are just figuring out how the Alex Holiday Park bookings are to be handled i.e. all ring seperatly or one person organise and will let you know when we can. For those that have given me money for Moa Creek I'll return or forward as appropriate when Struan find's out the Alex Holiday Park wants to proceded.

    Cheers R

No wonder i get lost a lot.

Ok, after looking at the route and times etc for the one dayer, and then losing a lot of sleep last night I have decided to not do the onedayer and do the two dayer instead. Just don't think i would enjoy the on dayer that much, and not sure whether i am fit enough really.

Anyway I now need to change my acommodation (again) sorry Struan, now owe you several hundred beers for shagging you around so much.
I will email the gladstone and cancel my entire booking and rebook through you for the b and b special, and will need accomodation in Alex as well.

    Cheers.

Accommodation and BBQ - THE List

Ok the accommodation thing has turned into a bit of a shambles. Lets try and restore some order to this. Sorry about the confusion over the past few days.

    Accomodation
There are two accommodation options that we are compiling lists for. If your name is not on the lists then you need to organise your own accommodation. PM me to get your name on a list. If you have mates that are coming along please let me know how many and what their names are too. When you arrive at the location your name will be ticked off the list (we will provide the list to the proprietors) and you pay your money then (no money now). Obviously I need real names for the list I provide the proprietors.

Friday night - Gladstone Pub - B&B for $35pp. Breakfast at 6.30 AM
One or Two Day Riders may want to have accommodation here.

    Arrow Ride Sticker

This is a proof of the ride sticker for this year, almost. The orange has been KTMified - cause I own one now and cause I'm ordering them

Will be $5 a peice. 50 ordered. First in first served at the BBQ on the Friday night.

For those that care KTM colour is RGB 255,102,0

    Cheers R

Thanks Ryan, your on-line confirmation lists is much tidier. My Message board was getting real confusing.
