It was a long day for two races, i think i might need to get 2 bikes and do 2 classes next year, great day, big crowd in,
Fantastic you had agood day, I love watching the motards race!

Auckland club and pearoa trust did a good job, still i can not get over the messing around between races in road racing, i am used to mx that is a bit more quick fire, maybe i need to turn the a d d down a bit and relax,

MX is so different from the street racing...street racing come with its own special features, thats what makes it so wonderful

i had a digital video camera on board, which worked fine on the the dummy grid but i kept going blank as soon as i got going on the track, so no video's sorry,
Murphy is such a prick sometimes!
Glad that you had a good day, seems there were a few of us that did

If you pay me for the work, I'll do a pro job. Just takes hours (recreating pixels to generate shadows and alter lighting from all angles just to make it seem natural for the viewer). It's not worth it just for the hell of it.

I don't get it. $20 adult & whatever for kids. Starts around 8am & finishes after 5. Full on entertainment for the whole time (excepting the short breaks so people can cross the track).
How much for movies? Which happen to last, at most, 2-3 hours (most shorter than that).
If you've got a large family, that's your problem & apart from the beach, nothing's going to be cheap or free.
The amount of organisation that goes on behind the scenes is impressive - have a read of the FREE programme that you got, which explains about what the locals do on race day. St Johns is probably volunteers, but St Johns proper do charge for their staff/volunteers.
Oh, FREE parking. That's becoming an oddity in itself.
Yeah, it cost us $40 in entry fees, plus food & drinks & petrol to get there, but it was fun.
As for cops, I think I might have seen one, but don't quote me. Didn't do any runners (pretty impossible anyway).

Scott, your comment about 2 races - that I do understand. Almost needed to be 2 days with twice as many races for you guys - hell of a cost to get there & set up with so little time on the bike.

First time I'd been there (been meaning to get there for years, but never seemed to make it). The one thing about the day that I thought sucked was the ride down from Auckland - what a bore. Teleporting would definitely be better for places like that. Sorry, I hate straight boring roads - yeah, we could've gone another way, but I knew I'd be lucky to even find Paeroa. Will be back at some stage, but now at least I've been to a street race. Next on the list is a rally, then longtrack, then .....

Sigh. Xtrop complaining. At least you folk got to go, I was just too sick to make it down, and even if I had I'd never have made it home again.

Which was really disappointing. So you folk that were able to get there, be grateful. And stop whinging. Or alternatively, maybe post what an utter boring miserable waste of a day it was and then I won't feel so pissed off about missing it.

Go back and read the progress of the posts about cost guys.

OK back ta poor old "Point 9". "Point 9" was the Pirelli Hairpin. Yep, the most likely ta see the off, but on top of that it is right next ta the Paeroa Hotel. Yep you guessed it, pissed fu8ktards. Just what every Marshall needs ta be dealing with while looking out for the racers. At one stage some pissed prats had pinched the Marshalls' fire extinguishers and was firing them off. That nearly had the race stopped. The Police were called for but were slow ta get there (probably not their fault as they were probably dealing with trouble elsewhere).

But yer in saying all that Trish and I still had an awesome day. Thanks to the KB'ers that stopped ta say "hi". Great ta see ya there. Thanks to the racers for putting on a good show for us .

Will have ta ask a racer how his bike ended up nick named "Priscilla" by the Marshals

Got an awesome view of the bikes coming out of the "Westpac Corner" ("Point 3", Corner of Arney St and Princess St) has they hit the dip. Surprised no-one came off there, as a few had a fair shake on as they hit it. One of the "Old School" dirt track sidecars had a good old tank-slapper going on there. They where getting a good three wheel drift going on as they exited that corner too. Awesome ta watch.
