Cool Yikes, 9 cops and only 1 of them stopped me. 18/10/05

I decided to go for a nice ride today... left home at 12.30pm.
I had only gotten 200 metres from home and the first (1) cop stopped me.
Thought that I went throu the give way a tad too fast.
I was only doing 20 - 25 kms and I was going straight through it up the road.
Like hello I have gone throu that intersection so many times in the past 25 years... He was nice about it.. said that he didn't want to knock me off my bike... like he was quite a distance from the intersection when I went throu it.. He did query me why I didnt stop on the road when he flashed his lights at me... I informed him that I aint stopping on that road as it on the down hill (yep we had gone over two speed humps and up and over a small hill before begin flashed). Asked if I had a bike license and passed it over to him... he looked at it. Asked where I lived. And he said have a nice day. NO TICKET.

Next (2) cop on the Nor-western motorway at the off ramp with a lasergun.
    Instantely check my speed.
By now I am thinking fark should I just go home or what....lol.

Get to the end of the Greenheithe where the lights are.
I am turning left to go up to Albany... right at the lights heading my way was yep another (3) cop. Thought shite... get past all the cars to keep ahead of him.

Get to Silverdale and blow me down there was another (4) cop going the other way... instantly check my speed again.

I pull into McDonalds at Orewa... and who should come out from behind it yep you guessed it another (5) cop (Guess its his lunch break)

So I order and go and sit outside and after 5 minutes another (6) cop goes past.

Hope you are keeping count (up to 6 so far)

I head up to Puhoi to see a mate while she is at work..
But just before the turnoff, another (7) cop passes me going in the opposite direction. Again check my speed.

After leaving Puhoi and coming back throu Orewa to Diary Flats turn off to Kaukapakapa/Helensville, there is another (8) cop.

I am thinking WTF is going on today.... are all the boy racers at school or what. Are all the Burglars all on holiday........
I have never seen so many cops all in such a small space of time..

So I cruise through Helensville down 16 to head home....
Just near Kumeu a bike (9) cop comes towards me...
I wave and he ignores me... (didnt wave to me)

So all in all I saw 9 cops in a 4 hour space...
Now you know somedays you never see one at all.... but come on 9 in one day. That is a bit much.

But other than that, it was a nice cruisy ride in the beautiful sun.

So for all those others out there on the roads... I hope you enjoyed going that much faster today, cos I had all the cops with me....

Moderators: This was put in General Ravings section but someone moved it to Meetings and Events Huh !!!!!

    What difference does that make?
Seems like the same rational alot of the drunk drivers use, I've been driving home from the pub every friday night for the last 30 years, haven't killed anyone yet. Must be OK.

Sorry Crashe not a direct dig at yourself, just something that really annoys me.

thats quite disheartening for an outlaw like myself to hear! By outlaw i mean im not licenced for my 400, havnt gotten it a wof yet and never ever register bikes just on principal (protest against acc levies). Beleive it or not, i get a ticket for no reg less than once a year and its only 200, so im winning.
There is no dark side of the moon, really, as a matter of fact. Its all dark...

Yeah most bike cops dont wave, whats up with that, i've found that pulling wheelies gets more attention these days. Damn them for making me do that, i'd be happy just waving, but nooooo, too good for ol me aye, i'll show em, i'll show em all, i will
I've had one pull me up, and he said straight out, you did nothing wrong (thats a first) just wanted a chat cause i'm bored as, cool guy he was.

about a week ago, riding home from school there was a police road block that stoped every car/bike on both sides for rego/warrent. then i saw a police car go the other way, then had one infront of me and finally there was a police in a van with a laser gun, oh and add one more that i passed

the most ive ever seen (this was between 15mins of riding)

Nine cops in 4 hours - mustave been after cats lives. Good that you didn't have any "problems" - sounds like they were a bit twitchy tho (or at least the first one).

I had a thread moved from General Ravings also and while that may have been reasonable, I also got a negative rep for posting in the wrong place. It wasn't that wrong but

    Official Decoy !

You let one get away. Hiding on the motorway just before Bombay. Gave me a fright he did, then decided I wasn't worth his attention.

Make sure you round them ALL up in future will ya, and lure them off so somewhere where I aint.

    thanks
