Thanks for help everyone. Really saved my arse! Took bike round to Motu's, just as I got there clouds of white smoke coming out of the motor.
After a few mishaps (I broke the fuel plug a bit taking off tank) turns out one of the coils blew itself... Will have to work out some way to trailer/van it up to Auckland tomorrow to get sorted.

Anyone recommend a Triumph dealer in Auckland please?

Many Many thanks to Motu for helping me out and providing a bed, and to Maha Man for helping me out when stuck on the side of the road! Dont know where I'd be without you guys!

Awesome outcome Jack as far as being helped out goes. Thats the essence of Kiwibiker at its best. Couple of phone calls and get it sorted, Theres AMPS at Khyber Pass or Holeshot on Barry's point rd Takapuna, same road as Cycletreads where you were going anyway. Glad to help mate, give me ring tomorrow if you get stuck in anyway and we could get you from Auckland...Mark

Crikey, the Waikato boys got ya sorted quick.
As a side note, the Triumph coils (pvl i think) have a reputation for crapping out. The good news is that almost any Hinkley made Trumpy coil will bolt straight on.
I think the old prt# is now superseded, and covers damn near all of them.
They arn't cheap new. (about $260), so ring the wreckers for a low milage one.

Jack whistle out in the morning, I am looking for any excuse to skive off at the moment. Driving to Auckland to collect a friend and take him where he needs to go is top of my should do things really!

Dude are you 100% sure you have to use triumph coils?

    Well progress is being made!

Many thanks to busa_pete's partner who came and picked me up with their ute, bike has now been transported to Auckland.

AMPS up here in Auckland think they may have a part that will do the trick, so bike is sitting with them now. Unfortunately in all my wisdom I managed to leave the seat down in Huntly! Arrghh!

With a bit of luck I'll be able to borrow a car tonight and drive down to pick that up...

Thankyou very much to everyone that has helped me out immensily so far.... Would be in a far worse state without all your support.

Thought you had picked the wrong night last night (being thursday) most are out riding. Yes even I was, i knew Motu lived in Huntly and would be your best bet, RCTL also lives about 20 mins away from Huntly so i called him to put the thread up with your details, 20 mins later Ixion was onto it and made the connection, ah the power of cell phones and the Internet, were would we be without them?...quicker service than AA....
