That's right, I travelled from Taupo to Wgtn on an RG150 and didnt blow it up! *touches wood*
Malcolm, Kyle and myself headed of for Taupo late Thurs night. Malcolm's bike was in the trailerwith Kyles so he could ride back with me. We arrived really late at Jas's to find my stalker AJ Turbo had arrived. If we had known that he was going to be there then we would have stayed elswhere....
Got up earliesh on Fri to head to the track with Kyle as he was doing a track day so poor old Jas had to get up early too, after we kept her up to stupid o'clock the night before! Got all the paper work sorted and off we went to the track. The bike was better than I had expected and as I was used to riding Malcolm's RG I was instantly comfortable. The bike has Dunlop TT900's on it and I looove them. On the short blat to the track I "tested" the bike out a bit and this strange smile came over me as the fully synthetic oil smell wafted around me! We got to the track and watched the bikes go round and round and round and some go crash until I got really itchy feet and decided to go for a little blat on my new bike. So I left the track and went left on the main road, after thinking how boring the road was I realised that I was on Broalands Rd heading to Rotovegas so I turned around before the stink reached us.
After saying goodbyes and getting on our way we headed to Turangi so that I could fill up before hitting the Desert Rd. We turned up at Shell just as a million cruisers with Highway 61 members rding them turned up. Their presence was amazing and they took over the entire forecourt. Children came running from everywhere to check out the Harley's. There were some fucken awesome bikes there and its amazing how silly you can feel on a lil RG150!
After leaving Turangi I was feeling really relaxed on the RG and just having a blast cruising it over the twirlies at the beginning of the Desert Rd. I scraped my boots a couple of times and had a goggle to myself. I realised how much more confident I was and how much my riding had improved from a year ago but then we got to the straight bits and I actually felt a little fatigued. Stop at Waioru for a break and about the 10th pie of the day and perked up a bit. We were heading to Feilding so we went over the Vinegar Hill rd, it was my first time over that road and I can see why people rave about it!We stopped at the lookout and the view was amazing. The sun was starting to go down and the sky was an amazing shade of red and blue.
We had expected the weather to turn to pooh's everywhere except over the SH1 boring bits but when we woke up in Feilding this morning it was mint so we decided to do Paihiatua track, another road that I had never been on that I thoroughly enjoyed. Im stoked I was on the little RG as its soooo much fun to go round those corner's on! We went through Mauriceville on the way to Masterton, yet another road I had never been on. It was stunning. I love autumn and the way it makes everything so pretty! There were trees everywhere, all different shades of yellow and red. There was this cutest little bull in one of the paddocks, I soo wanted to steal him!
When we got into Masterton we stopped at Dave Anderson Suzuki to say hi to Mark and got a cup of teaApparently they have muffins as well on Saturday's
Really cool shop they have there too! Mark said we had just missed Skelstar, but I reckon he knew that we were coming!
Malcolm and I swapped bikes to Featherston so that he could try out the RG. I was quite glad to have the VFR over the boring straight bits
Once we swapped back bikes in Featherston we headed over the hill. It's soo nice to finally do that hill on my own bike again. Managed to scrape a few things here and there and got home a very happy chicky!!!!![]()
