Charity ride (26 April 2009)
On 26th April there's a charity ride starting from Drury Performance Tyre Centre (BTW: They just fitted old Zimmer with a pair of Metzler Road Tecs for $487...even while scrubbing in they feel really sticky).
The ride is to raise funds for 12-year old, little Fergus. Unlike you and me, Fergus is stuck in a wheelchair and needs funds to buy a lift to get him into dad's van.
Turning up will be Andrew Stroud, Ewan (I never wash my bike) Gilmour, sundry stunt riders for entertainment, a free sausage sizzle and beer at the end of the ride.
Ten bucks per wheel. Three-wheelers get the third wheel free. Good deal huh?
So far the bookings suggest a trail of bikers stretching several kilometres, so it could be cool to be a part of a bike gang of such a size as to almost guarantee to have Concerned Mothers of four fleeing for the Rescue Remedy. :--)) Ain't it just grand fun to scare the shit out of fearful?
If you've never been a part of a BIG biker meet, then the thrill is something you have yet to experience. And oh! The sound of hundreds of bikes is just awesome.
Seems to me a very worthy cause since the kid will never get to ride on the wind like you and me.
26th April. 10am. Be in to win 2 new Dunlops and 2 new Meztlers, and get to talk with the most down-to-earth, hell-on-wheels racer in New Zealand; Andy Stroud. Then you get to swan around saying, real casual like, "Yeah, I was talking with Stroudy, the other day, he reckons.....' Very impressive with the chics of biking, AKA, all those bikers who have heard of but never met Stroudy. He's a kind of skinny version of Pine Tree Meads. :--))
Cheers
