I also have voted for Jim here and will not hesitate too vote for in the MNZ elections also,However I am under no illusion that what is going on within the roadrace scene is NOT something 1 man can fix alone.Having had a conversation with Jim in the last couple of days it became aparrent he has some good ideas too move the sport forward,However he will need a good team behind him and NO interference from outsiders with hidden agendas. He will also need more than 1 year to make anything more than a slight dent in the job in front of him.I know for fact that 1 of his biggest assets in his battle will be the backing of his wife Kathy who has also been a major part of Jims efforts. It should also be recognised that the people who have been responsible for some of the best racing this country has seen to date have been the people that have been cast off as being the evil empire because they didnt suffer fools or bow too pressure,Don Cosford,Errol Conaghan and indeed the current President Sandra Perry have done a huge amount of good for Motorcycling in this country. In fact Sandra ran the old ACU office solo for a huge period and in fact while it wasnt perfect it seemed too work better than the current structure and the best part of all that is that Jim was involved in all those tenures and hopefully he can draw on his experience too help bring us back on track.Jim is most certainly every bit a fighter and indeed a good freind when the chips are down as Ian has pointed out in another thread. All I can say is Jim has been a good freind to me since I met him when he moved to Wellington in the early 70s and joined up with the Wellington Grand Prix society and Hutt valley motorcycle club and I hope he doesnt end up getting shafted like a good number of his predecessors

Well said Billy , it says a lot about the people who have stuck around through thick and thin doesn't it? We have all seen many come and go.

Another day on and that good old "racers apathy" has raised its ugly head again.

Fact of the matter is, doesn't matter whether people vote in a KB poll or not.

You have to ensure they're prepared to vote in the election. Each voter should be given a voote receipt. Then, when someone starts complaining about how shit everything is, they should be required to provide their proof of voting. Anyone without one should be old to fuck off.

Well this is only a mildly interesting exercise, I'm studying the form guide and will vote in the real election. Apathy accusations will only be valid AFTER the MNZ election.
