Yep, all joking around aside Mark, if this weather keeps up, it would be good to take stock and consider an alternate plan. If the rain keeps hammering down like this thru to Saturday, its gonna be pretty nasty on cnut hill and as Joe said, the river crossings might get real interesting! Good that Joe has managed to sort a key tho, gives options at least!
I'm still planning on coming at this stage but will be trying to keep it sensible on my back. The only caveat is: the physio today decided she was very unhappy with my back's response to treatment & is concerned i may have some kinda compression fracture(s) in my spine & is sending me for thoracic spine x-ray tomorrow in the morning - so keep ya fingers crossed for no fractures! If there are fractures, they are not gonna be major otherwise I would actually be in even more pain than I am apparently! Small mercies etc!

I'll trailer over to Toppys and if its totally pissing down with no sign of stopping I'll drink several lattes, perv at the waitress and head home.
forecast is for showers so we should get a chunk of the day thats ok.
Hopefully I have a mate coming whose previously ridden my WR up and down the hill.
I've got the knoblies on. It's be a shame to take them off again without getting some use out of them.
I'll ring you Joe on Sat morning. If you think the rivers will be too high, I won't bother coming all that way. Not much point if we can't even get to Cnut hill.
in the event you guys head off on this mission good luck, have fun and be safe- Cheers Aslan

I'm happy to go Sunday if Saturday is too wet
I can't decide whether to come & watch the entertainment on Cnut Hill or sensibly save the bike for the South Island Invasion. The problem is my willpower is weak & if someone gets up the hill I will be tempted to also give it a go.
I was thinking about using some boat fenders in the panniers to soften the laydowns. Have I already accepted the inevitable?![]()
