There is NO vehicular access to the steps of Parliament and never has been
That moron with a Tractor ensured that
If we want to have the right to go on Parliament grunds on the day revoked, by all means keep this infalmatory dribble up
If you feel you could organise a better systesm to cope with thousands of out of towners in one giant convoy step up and put your hand up
Just ride.
Exactly.
This is not an angry spontaneous outburst, this is merely a show of resistance, well organised and co-ordinated, and following the rules.
And anyone who thinks it won't be repeated is mistaken - we won't get parity with cars this round, its going to take a lot of well organised battling to get there.
ACC have done something great for bikers here. They could have just slung on another $50 a year, and got what they wanted quietly.
But they attempted to lift the levies in one great big hit, that has seen motorcyclists all come together with a common goal, ACC parity for all light vehicles.
We had limited time to organise this year, but by next year, we will have hundreds of accurate factual submissions, a better protest plan, and we will have had time to gather other effected groups, like camper van owners, and light truck drivers, as well as potentially effected groups like low fuel usage and low ANCAP rated vehicle owners, all of whom are mentioned for attention.
I have no doubt that there will be angry protests in future, if these levies are forced through.
But now is the time for us to stay peaceful and calm.
David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.
Hey Stoney, I reckon your doing a top Job mate, I got the email about the piss up at your place to..........thats some generous shit 7000 bikers at your house sounds awesome, mist be costing you a fortune but I will be there for sure.
if anyone needs the email circulating with the details drop me a pm, it wouldnt be right to put it up on a post eh![]()
Ive run out of fucks to give
I agree Steve, there will always be arseholes in life. And the media will always find something and twist it to their own ends. Which is why we need to TRY and keep them to the minimum.
I'm a realist that knows there will be the few who will try and disrupt the masses. But on the large, the masses are law abiding citizens that want to get their message across peacefully. We are not going to see 5990 law abiding citizens become a 6000 strong Kangaroo court because 10 can't control themselves.
The police are the ones with the control. We are only trying to assist them.
And the police will shut us down if things get out of hand.
And at the first sign of trouble, we will see a mass exodus from the site of those law abiding citizens which plays right into the hands of National.
I am one of those 'volunteers' that want's to be up there on the stairs of parliament but am taking the unselfish approach of helping to organise so that so many '2 wheel riders' can make a peaceful protest. To that end, I am not going to be able to be part of the ride.
That is the sacrifice that the volunteers are making. We will be ones ensuring that everyones pride and joy is secure whilst they are at Parliament. We will be the ones that are helping to ensure that everyone gets there and back safely.
And a word of warning to those that think they can park anywhere. The tow companies will be on full alert and will tow instantly. And they will not give a damm how they handle your pride and joy.

We came, We listened, And in one voice we answered
BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!!
There are a heap of ordinary Joe Blogs who are now as pissed off with Smith, JK and ACC as we are. Our actions so far have bought to light other facets of "The Hidden Agenda".
There are many who will be there in "SUPPORT OF OUR CAUSE" because we have taken it from just being a protest about bike levies to a whole different dimension.
WHAT SIDE OF THE FENCE ARE THEY GOING TO BE ON.
You have every right to be pissed off.
You have every right to ensure your voice is heard.
You may feel you have the right to invade parliment.
All of those that have agreed to participate and follow the guidelines have their rights as well.
They will be pissed off by your actions.
They will ensure their voice is heard.
It will then be their right to invade your property, kick the crap out of you and bust things up a bit.
5 or 6 militant bikers
5 or six THOUSAND PISSED OFF PEOPLE because of your stupidity.
Acceptable loss.
Fukin ek guys;
This isn't a war its a protest ffs (at the moment)
Even 'real' wars start with protest and debate. Its only after this faze has failed that invasions and fighting starts.
Stoney and others are doing an awesome job of co-ordinating the 17th as a peaceful protest so dont fuck it up.
If this doesn't get the recognition it should and a re-think on the levy's then it will be time to think again.
You dont unlock doors with a rocket powered grenade (if you want to talk to who's on the other side) try finding the key first! (pun intended)
That we are able to park on the concourse at the stadium is a victory for the Bikoi organisers. This is unheard of in the history of Westpac Stadium! Not only that but there is nowhere else where you could park so many bikes so close to Parliament. If you join the Bikoi, you can convoy down the motorway, park at the stadium and then walk the 150 metres or so to get inside Parliament grounds. There is no better option.
This event needs to be the friendly one. We may need to have more militant ones in future but this needs to be the one where we show the diverse face of motocycling to the sheeple.
So:
- Park your egos at the front door
- Smile and wave to all the nice people (especially kids and grandmothers)
- Help the volunteers in hi-vis vests by doing what they ask you to do
- Be pissed off but reasonable - it's not the people of Wellington that we are pissed off with.
I have no probelm walking 150 meters. And my current ride is no show pony, so she be sweet at the stadium.
I hate mass rides. Of the reasons that have been discussed on here a multitude of times. This time there is only one way to avoid it: not to participate. So I fully support the organising you guys have been doing. But if you are expecting that all will run according to plan I suspect you will be disappointed.
Just accept that there will be some temper and anger. But is that so bad? They ARE fucking with bikers after all...
Just a note that the distance from the stadium to parliament would be 800 - 1000 metres. Pick a pair of boots that you are comfortable in as there will be a lot of time walking and standing around.
The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight underpants.
I think that goes for all of us. But if you do park your bike illegally and leave it, it will be the tow company you will have the beef with and I don't know about your area, but the Wellington crowd don't give a toss. It will be after the fact that you have to try and get your bike back from them.
The marshall's at the stadium are there to try and help ensure that:
1) everyone parking at the stadium parks in such a way as to ensure we can fit all of the bikes in. We don't consider that too much to ask.
2) to act as security to ensure that the bikes are not touched while everyone is at Parliament. (and the marshalls will not be touching/moving the bikes either. I will be treating all bikes the same as my own. You touch it you have a pissed off ME to deal with).
The Stadium is only a very short walk to Parliament. We can't expect to fit 5000+ bikes on the street outside the big house nor on the steps for that matter. The organisers have tried to help by ensuring that there IS a place to park the bikes close to Parliament. That has got some form of security.
That has got toilet facilities (because the Parliament grounds and surrounding area hasn't). Where the tow companies cannot generate revenue.
And because of this, the Police (who are neutral and just doing their job) are with us. (Not supporting, but working with us).

All I have to say is remember how the media portrayed the rape victims. They only showed a bunch of angry idiot in front of acc and reported the damage they did and that one idiot trying to push by the security guard and fall on his ass.
All I can say is I don’t not want to be portrayed like that. So we all need to work together if you see someone doing something stupid explain it to him and try to keep him in line. tbh I can see part of the news broadcast now bikers leave rubbish all over parliament grounds.
Ill tell you this now I don’t want that something so stupid will make us seem like unruly rabble.
History is written by the Biker
Propaganda is written by ACC
Unfortunately the geography doesn't provide a drive by opportunity, either coming in or leaving.
