Thats a hard one Gazbur theres quite a few 650s on the market at the moment between 4.5k-7k, but they all pretty standard DRs maybe you could go with the motard look to make it stand out and not just be another DR650, city goers might find it a little more appealing, or as an entry level motard racer but less the exspence of a KTM etc. just a thought

Comfort on long trips, a desire to do more adv touring and see NZ, can't afford two bikes at present & doing longer distance trips on seal & gravel more desirable than thrashing up a vicious single track I've been up several times before.
Will get a more "dirty" bike to join the stable in the future when I can afford to own two bikes!

At the end of the day, whether I get a Transalp or a WeeStrom or something else similar, it will still handle some offroad, but be way more comfortable on longer trips! A twin should be less vibey too!
    Cheers, Dave

TBH, a Tiger has crossed my mind BUT looks like it'll be $10k ish to get a decent one 2001 or newer and I'm probably lookin to pay $8k tops.
A Tiger is on my radar tho! (You'd be the man to give me the low-down on pros & cons of a Tiger I guess! Care to share?)

BTW, in case no-one has seen it on the linky thang, even if my DR goes on TM tonite at $7350/7500, the $7k price will continue to stand for KB'ers!
    Cheers, Dave

Yup... bit more than 8k for a tiger, there's people more qualified to comment on them than me, Hell, I've never riden one but thought they would be the shiz for adv touring, which has more appeal to me than fangin round some forestry tracks.
I know the Trophy is a nice bike to ride long distance with plenty of power through out the range, but thats thanks to the previous owner.
