    Lots.

    I just took it down 'till it was well clear of the sprocket.

    All you need is a triangle with the screws as the points...

    eg. Procycle's one...

    I didn't bother originally.

    My latest elcheapo chain seems wider/chunkier than standard, so I hacked off a couple of mm recently with the grinder. It wore little notches, so used that as a guide.

    ordered a couple of circlips from saeco, $3.00.

    regarding the sprocket cover, one guy reckons to removed it, I'd be kinda tempted to do this, is it a wof issue? Will my pant leg get caught in it? Might get grease on my jeans, but Im not worried about that!

    If you ride in mud a huge amount of crud gets stuck up behind that cover, I dunno whether removing it would made that any better or worse.

    Trim it. then you can at least see the condition of the toofs.

    Yeah, remove sprocket cover and use 2 circlips, you will never look back!

    just cut my sprocket cover, should of made it rounded like the photo but cut it square, oh well still looks primo
