When you register, the confirmation at the bottom mentions "stikers"
"Steekers" would be more a more acceptable error...

DB1K Website Registrations
Please note that your name won't appear on the riders page straight away, by default it is "not yet approved", Ryan checks and "approves" the new registrations before they appear on the riders page.

Don't want to turn this into a tyre thread BUT - I went and checked and there is a Shinko on the front as well.
Also I've never heard anyone describe a KLR as "mid sized" before, usually they are called fat pigs at best, and often far worse.
However, enjoy your DB, on what ever rubber you have. Wish I was going but finances, etc...:-(
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Yes no mention of tyres because there is no one right answer. There is mention of "terrain encountered will include steep inclines and declines, rough terrain, rutted sections, slippery/muddy terrain and stream and river crossings." as you say I've left it for riders to decide.

Fantastic effort to the organisers, hats off to you.

There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.
Which brings up a good point. All those north Islanders that haven't been done that way on a bike before be warned that it can get bloody cold at any time down there! It will prob be 30degrees & sunnyhowever I would have frozen my mammaries off on the way down last year if I didn't pop into Para & got an offcut of thin sleeping mat stuff for under the jacket.
just a headsup for your riding comfort
