awesome video, looks just like a Akaroa GP if you ask me..lol,
the only way you will slow sport bike riders down is to fill the road they like to blast around on with cops..
and once ya do that, we will just find the next best road and blast around that knowing that all the cops are busy somewhere else..
A couple of hidden speed cameras will soon sort that lot out and a the Akaroa GP. QED really.
Put them in the right place and turn the squids into slithers.
Just another leather clad Tinkerbell.
The Wanker on the Fucking Harley is going for a ride!
the idea that dont worry about the speeding because car drivers do this or that is just plain stupid. Obviously its a sportsbike favoured road and obivously there are some up there who ride it often as fast as they can. 153 is pretty impresive for that stretch of road. Its illegal. they are showcasing its a problem. Its not surprising its happening. And there is not a defence to it. The guys (or girlls ahem pc world) know they are breaking the law. They know the law cant do anything about it. looks like a fun bit of road!

Everyone has different risk profiles. And as a result their are going to be people travelling at all different speeds as they perceive those risks differently. Fortunately thanks to the bell curve there is only a small number that travel drastically over the speed limit on the public road network (or for me, in the really high risk zone). And funnily enough, those risk profiles are often shaped by age and experience, and by the number of times you've badly hurt yourself and/or had someone you know badly hurt (that's the hard way to get experience).
I guess with bikes the difference is you don't need anywhere as much money to be able to get a vehicle that can take you to that point, so you see more extreme examples. If you could buy cars for $5k that could easily and rapidly get to 200km/h you'd see more of them doing it.
For those extreme ends of the scale I agree with the enforcement officers - you wont be able to penalise the behaviour out of existence. If your risk profile is such that travelling drastically over the is acceptable then I doubt any kind of punishment is really going to measure up as "high risk" by comparison.
The trick, IMHO, is to try and educate and install patterns of behaviour through knowledge and leadership in ourselves, and inspire those around us (like mentoring), and to try and get people to understand the consequences of their actions on the people around them (like on their Mums, Dads, partners, etc) and acknowledging that our actions do affect those people. It's not all about "me":
It's one of the reasons I like to help out at NASS - because one day I hope it will keep one more biker around to live one more year of their life. Sure, we all die eventually - but why start early huh?
speed cameras wont fix the problem, il just move my number plate so ya cant see it.. or take it off altogether and if i got stopped by the coppers il just say it must have fallen off.. ;-)
but for anyone who has riden to Akaroa on a bike you must know what the thrill is and why so many bikers do it every weekend during the summer months.
uh-huh...
p.s. lovely rep comment, I call your mother the same word when im spunking in her ass.
once again - suck my cock!
riding along a road, you see a person blatantly pointing a radar thingymawhoowhatsit at you. makes sense theres another cop up the road waiting to pull you over. Unless you are a complete fucktard who thinks he can guarantee his ability to outrun the cops without killing himself, you'd slow down to be either legal, or minimize the cost of the impending ticket
most people would
you said a lot without telling us anything.
no, in the video, it was alleged that one was clocked at 200mph - they never showed the radar reading of it. they didnt show the radar reading of the guy they said was doing 153mph either, you just chose to take his word for it.

There are two types of people in the world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data sets
Well...that many sportsbikes heading down a straight piece of road between corners and the only wheelie I saw was that well worn 'Busa clip. That video needs more wheelies. Sensationalist reporting at best.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
