Older Landrovers are bloody good off road, but a nightmare on the road. Had a few gearlevers snap off at the base too. I like the rangerovers, V8 of course.

    Yup, it's here!

Sheer luxury - 4 speeds, 1300cc, one-speed wipers, one speed de-mister fan, hand-pump windscreen washer, one guage (petrol) steel dash, rubber floor mats!

And it's a '79, does your manual cover that year?

I'll be ultra busy for the next couple of weeks but I'll see if I can post a pic.

I'll go have a look at this if I can scavenge up some spare $$ (not likely, got a business to start )

    Here's a reasonable looking P6 S1

Photo #10 of the jag shows the reality of owning a jag.

I have a mate with one of those. He dropped a Nissan 200SX SSS motor in it. Goes like stink! He did quite a bit of work on the suspension too, I think. It handles very well.

Power disc brakes worked very well, ask the wee boy who ran out in front of me one day... It looked good with the driving lights in the grill, the interior and boot were roomy, and the seats were comfy. I still miss it!

Oh, and it was red with those faux "alloy" wheel trims.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that they dropped the "Marina" name when they fitted the 1700 mill. They were simply called "Morris 1700" and "Morris 1700 HL"

I had one in that sort of apricot colour, then sold it to my son. He had it for years, we both loved it.

Yeah, in 1979 the B and E series engines became the BL-O 1.7, overhead cam engine, The vans and utes were called a 575. The aussies got the good ones again, with the straight six version. I am yet to see a diesel version though, although some of them around these days smoke like diesels.
