To be honest. At least the 550 and 650 had the right styling cues. Later model 750's looked like beach whales, sounded like a bad fart and were as had almost no lines to them.
Sure the 550/650's were a bit of a stab in the back of the 80's 750 Kat.
But the 90's 750 Kat poured petrol on it, set it on fire, then pissed on it to put it out.

Spending that much you go look at it yourself rather than speculating on minor things like that and planting a potentially incorrect seed of doubt for others, but that would make to much sense.
Usually it's pretty clear when one has been dropped and repaired/had parts replaced. That said, I'm at the lower end of the market where they probably don't put as much coin into it.
Anyway, good luck. Enjoy the repaired machine.
Haha makes me laugh how people think that 'projects' like this won't take much to restore to their former glory. Iv'e restored quite a few bikes over the years and these twits have absolutely NO idea what's involved. The cost of chrome alone would amount to over 3K for this pile of junk. OP is correct...decimal point in the wrong place![]()
Could be an eclectic postie race bike , good for bugger all else. The Drixton Honda was a weapon in it's day.. $200 would require a bit of thought.![]()
