I'm reminded of the Russian Ambassador to NZ who, when asked about censorship replied, With a press as stupid as yours and politicians who know how to use it, we'd rather have what you've got.

The great businessman Trump is famous for not paying his bills. Be they a loan with Deutchbank or one of his many legal bills. This latter particularly means he can normally only attract idiot or incompetent lawyers. He now has a new lawyer who is apparently regarded as competent, even if he is registered as a foreign agent acting for a Venezualan politician. The new lawyer insisted on, and received, US$ 3 million up front before he starts work. Trump has paid, not from his own money of course, but from his Save America Political Action Committee. All the simple minded fuckwits who coughed up their hard earned to "stop the steal" must be thrilled.

Illegal Migrant numbers under Trump vs Illegal Migrant numbers under Biden.

Well it must be trumps fault for not building the wall like he promised. If the wall had been built, then all those illegal immigrants wouldn't be getting across the border, would they?
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Repubs had the senate majority which is why the impeachments failed.

November 8, 2016: Donald Trump and Mike Pence elected as president and vice-president in presidential elections, while the Republicans retain majority at both Senate and House of Representatives.
Dems regained control of house in 2018 midterm but repubs still controlled senate

To be fair - I couldn't remember which one it was - but one of the major issues was opposition from the House.

    Then Biden happened...

Trump is totally the reprobate you think he is. The president that tear gasses peaceful protesters to walk across the road for a photo op holding the bible outside a church he never attended services at. The same president that sat there and did nothing to stop jan6 riots for many hours.
Case in point, tdl is currently blaming the dastardly dems for stopping trumps ill considered wall, while conveniently forgetting it was in fact the repubs that sunk the wall while they had both the house and senate.

The only way you really know you have tdl on the ropes in when he feigns disinterest in a subject. If something changes within that subject later, then all of a sudden, that disinterest turns to laser like focus - for the exact same subject

The whole left right thing is such a bullshitty facade. In bad news for Pritch, trump will never do a day in jail. That would require the establishment have to admit they let an outright fraudster into the top job at the white house - never going to happen.

When I lived in the US, an old miner told me that in the 80's, hippies came to their small town and started stealing crystals from the mines at night. It became a real issue. The local sheriff got the miners together at a meeting and told them that they would investigate the ever increasing reports of hippies going "missing" by only digging precisely 8 foot down with an excavator to look for bodies. If course the tacit meaning was, bury the bodies deeper than 8 feet and you will have no worries. And similar is going on over in the US politics scene now, lots of big noting investigations, must be seeing to show no one is above the law. the reality? Just last week the DOJ subpoenaed 30 phones. What a fucking joke, they have had a couple of years to scrub/replace their phones now, and after the maralago search, only the dumbest cunt polis won't of done that by now.

As mentioned in earlier posts, Desantis will be the end of Trump, as he wins the nomination for 2024, he will gracefully slip the knife into trumps heart all the while whispering his thanks into trumps ear for helping make him, and it now time for an eminently more handsome and articulate republican leader to take over the alter of bullshit.

Ahhhh, Desanatis, a much more marketable shyster to ladle on the bullshit. Case in point, his sudden desire to cut taxes for the little people. Check this article out. I'm sure all this tax relief being rolled out just before midterm elections benefiting woman of child bearing age - the very same being the most pissed of demographic regarding the republicans anti abortion policies is just sheer coincidence - right? Normal service will be set to resume. We can go back to normal sleazy self serving politics instead of the shitty orange buffoons in your face 24/7 brand.

And the suckers continue to lap it up, and foolish conservatives that think the Republicans are still a conservative movement are firmly in that suckers camp too. A special shout out to TDL here

    The art of the steal...

New York Attorney General, Letitia James, announces her $250 million civil case against Trump Inc.
Be interesting to see who lines up to act for Trump, and how much they want in advance.
This is a civil case, it does not have to be proven beyond reasonable doubt. There is a lower standard in civil cases.

There is more but this is the 'guts' of it.

Yeah, this one will go the way of the 100% fraudulent "Trump University" and the Trump family dipping into their "charity" fund. They get found guilty, pay a small (by their standards) fine and boom - justice is done to US standards of only throwing little people in jail.
The only satisfaction to be gained from it is trump will do a bit of teeth mashing, but will still profit way more than what he loses in another inevitable round of begging donations to his magat supporters. Wash, rinse and repeat.

Crumbling? My Dear Sugi - every day that the world is suffering under the Sabotage from Biden and the Dems reinforces the foundation my point(s) rest on.

I mean, I do post at length, but then most of these issues have many facets, aspects that are interesting and need to be addressed. As per below:

Well, that depends on who you believe - The Democrats would have me believe that he overpowered the Secret Service Agents in order to be with his people...

I also get to point out that I proved that people only think he is a reprobate after the Political hit pieces came out when he announced his intent to run for Office. That tainted your view from the beginning - I know his subsequent actions have only affirmed your views - I still get to point that the well was poisoned.

I'll admit I've not clicked on the links yet - so this statement is made blind, but I have a sneaky suspicion it will be vindicated...

A Little uncharitable on the first part - since often the subject is one that you bring up - however, I do want to address the second statement - because there is a big element of Truth in that - when something changes it can attract my attention.

It is not the Subject that is of interest, but the Change - case in point - I never cared about the Democrats claim of Trump's cognitive decline - it was very clear that this was another tactic to try and unseat Trump. And so Trump did a test, in accordance with the Dems complaints - passed the test.

Your point (IIRC) is that the Test was easy and has no bearing - my later point - is that I cared not for the original claim or the test, but I do care when the precedent has been set and Biden (Y'know - Mr Shake-hands with no one and well, come on man - you know - the thing) doesn't follow the example set by Trump.

It is the Hypocrisy that attracts my attention. So it's not a case of you beating me with a superior point, it's that the point you are often trying to make is incidental to the one I'm interested in.

Or maybe he won't do a day in Jail cause he's done nothing wrong

I agree they are big nothing investigations - but I disagree that they are to show no one is above the Law. They look more like the exercise of raw power of the regime against a Political opponent.

So, considering I watch a lot of Libertarian leaning content - I've seen a lot of discussion on this topic. Desantis will definitely be the successor to Trump - the question is whether that's in 2024 or in 2028.

And these range from the likes of Ben Shapiro, JBP, Carl Benjamin and others.

Some of them (such as JBP) think it should be Desantis, pointing to Trump's many flaws (again - a common critique is that the Right never says anything bad about Trump...) and in particular JBP made the point that to contest the election result was a mistake philosophically "It was off-brand for Trump, Trump's brand is all about being a Winner. Winners don't let losers steal their victory" (Paraphrased) and also pointing that whilst in terms of Policy Trump and Desantis are similar, Desantis doesn't yet have the unreasonable hatred that Trump had (although if he announces, the hit pieces will come).

Others such as Ben Shapiro think that the Republican voterbase still supports Trump and that should it be Trump vs Desantis for the candidacy, Trump will steam-roll Desantis and that will hurt his future prospect a being a President.

Then there are those that look at it from a Story/Narrative Arc - that it should be Trump to effectively 'get redemption' (and perhaps a little revenge).

Me? I'd be happy with either - but I'll be honest, the more shenanigens the Democrats pull against Trump in a clear attempt to get something to stick to him to prevent him from running, the more I want him to win and "Now that the shoe is on the other foot".

I mean - a Republican voting for less Taxes - Not sure how this is news worthy....

Also, you do know that the majority of the Pro-Life movement, are made up of Women right? It's almost like Women who have Children believe that there is something special about being pregnant and seek to protect it... Who Knew...

And what's more - a Republican who brands himself as defending Children and the Family from Wokeness is doing Policy to benefit children and the Family - Truly a Mastermind of Machiavellian evil!

As for the last line - it depends on what you mean by Conservative and Republican. Both parties have their philosophical basis in the Primacy of the Individual, Natural Rights, The Rule of Law and Small, Local Government. There are some difference the two to be fair - but these differences are not relevant here.

I see nothing in Desantis' flavour of Republicanism that goes against that. If there's something you think that goes against those values - then I'm interested in the what and the why?

Not quite. The state case has also been referred to federal prosecutors. If he's fiddled state taxes, he's also fiddled federal ones.
The old classic Tax evasion charge might yet see him down.

I also note that an appeal court has allowed the DoJ to continue using the seized documents even while the special master looks them over.
I'd also point out the 3 judges were 2 Trump appointees and one Obama.....And they were critical of the judge who first heard the case too.

Generally it hasn't been a good day for Trump.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
