Free entry to the museum on Sat

    FWIW
Just got this in an email.... Free entry to the museum on Sat....

    See Darwin: for free!
    Saturday 3rd November
This Saturday Newstalk ZB, is giving Aucklanders the chance to see the acclaimed Darwin exhibition for free!

Radio Network CEO John McElhinney said that Newstalk ZB is delighted to be able to offer Aucklanders and their listeners the chance to see the exhibition free of charge. “This is a major exhibition about one of the world’s most incredible men and the way his life and his theory is shown in this exhibition is totally captivating – I urge all our listeners – young and old - to make the most of this wonderful opportunity"

This Saturday 3 November. Offer applicable to Darwin only – the usual $5.00 donation will be asked for if you intend to visit the rest of the Museum’s galleries.

I just done a recce of the Domaiun. In the rain again!

Plenty of parking, but it's all spread out.

So if folk are going to congregate at the end to be exhorted the central point will have to be very clear.

Is there anything important happening at the end ?

Take care folks on the road up from Stanley St through the Domain. Its got some nice twisty bits in it, but it gets slippery when wet cos of vegetation and shit on the road. And cagers cut the corners badly. Also the exit at the top is a bit dicey, watch for cages coming round the bend to the right at speed.

    Ramarama exit is 466 .

Theres a smallish car park right behind the Museum buidling too, that we may be able to take over. And more parking down by the duck pond.

I have been guilty of seeing how fast I can go from bottom to top (then back down again) in my breaks between classes. I know it is a 30kph speed limit, but those switchbacks are too fun

Leaves are a bitch in the wet. First time I found out about losing the front wheel was on that tight hairpin. Hold back your natural impulses.

See you tomorrow, guys -- might have to break it short, my sister's birthday being held back home around 2.30pm.

We need to have a press release ready for AFTER the ride. And we may have some interesting stuff on the political front by then.

Wicked turn out guys and girls, I heard there were 320 at least bikes, and half a dozen cars.

Patch was deemed by the plod to have been the wheelie rider, despite the fact that he was 2 up, and came from the opposite direction, but "I AM THE LAW" thought otherwise. Expensive jaunt for him.

The signs on the ute turned out ok (pic attached), nearly lost the top one (80kph ????), was going too fast and it came loose, was worried the patrol car behind me was going to wear it.

Big UPS to the plod (other than the wheelie thing) for turning up and making it a lot easier for all of us, and for all the riders that showed up, great effort.

big ups to all those who went on the ride, any tv coverage?
A universal dream of greatness is that
We push ourselves to the limit
Yet still be brilliant when the chips are down.
Sometimes , The struggle kills the dream.

In short, I don't know, think so tho.

That was a doozy of a cage pileup just before Ellerslie, nice of the cops to give us our own lane to pass the accident

Well, I went for the cheesecutter ride and am stoked to have been part of such a meaningful ride for the first time I've ridden in a group.

My GT250R now has 128kms on the clock since picking it up on Thursday and I've discovered muscles that I never knew existed (ouch!).

Felt sorry for those cars that piled up, we must have been a sight to behold! Am glad that no bikers were involved.

Home safe and sound now, and it feels good to be back on two wheels
