Good on ya for keeping your focus mate! And trying to judge someone else's skill level without ever having seen them ride is rather pretentious IMHO.
If I was going to buy a brand new mid-range sportsbike I reckon I'd go for the 675! If I was looking at something with a couple of years of use it would be either a 675 or a zx636r... 
But then again, the zx7rr is enough sportsbike for me for now - so will probably look at getting motardish bike for commuting. 
As for the thous - yeah, they are faster and they are bigger... However, is a thou going to be more fun for YOU? And is it going to be that more fun that it's worth the cost (both acquisition and maintenance - I'm specifically thinking tyres here).
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
