Well, after some soul searching and some budgeting and some reworking of the budget and a 3rd shaving of some of the budgeted items and in light of the fact that the reserve has now been met on the 'Zuki.....I have elected to keep the Duchess (my nickname for my Ducati coz she's definately a she and is petite and in no way a Duke) Chickadee is happy with this decision and has elected to borrow the Ducati from time to time. The reason she hasn't borrowed it before was coz of all the noise it makes she thought it was a really grunty agressive sports 600. I have taken pains to explain that the Ducati 600 has much less power than the GSX750 and she has agreed to try it out.

Anyway - see the signature - a bargain 750 for sale in fine condition. Happy bidding!

Na, thats crazy shit man... so if ya have to stand down for a year so what... it costs nothing to have a rego on hold bike sitting in the garage, tighten security up and no insurance neded either however for a very little you can get a storage insurance.

Now the little you will get for it when it comes to buy another... it will cost twice as much and you will have saved SFA.

We needed to sell at least one bike to clear a debt that we won't be able to service on the new salary. We're down to one bike but I'm pretty sure Chickadee will fall in love with the Ducati after a few open road runs.

Best you had better go for a couple of rides now! Swap bikes and get her onto the "D" pronto. Get the confidence up!

Good compromise Jamie, didn't like to suggest it because you know your circustances best, but you won't regret keeping the Duchess. We need to go for a blat soon - this weekend maybe?

FWIW I gave up biking for 11 years while my children were young. Luckily I was able to store the BMW so it was sitting there, covered in dust and the odd bird poop, slightly rusted, but ready to go when the time came.

Come to think of it, it's gone back into storage now the Yellow Terror has arrived

Glad to hear the good news! Always thought you guys could crunch some numbers to make it work ... canny biker scotsman and a biker mum!

Yep, Chickadee will find riding the Duchess a pleasure I should think ... and your bairns will be relieved to still see a magnificient swathe of Ducati red praked in the gargre!

Just no more pics of you in a kilt on it y'hear?

    Yo McJim!!
glad to hear you holding on to your piece of Italian love....
I just sold mine to get an uber dirt motard thingi (ktm, ) to make some art work (more bike vids) on... I actually cried a tiny bit when an aussie rode the 996 out the driveway. I've sworn if I can' handle it i'll get back with duc's in a few years...by then someone might have put up enough kms on the 848 for me to afford it....mohoho

If a bird shits on your bike Winston, don't ask her to sit pillion again..

I will see how this weekend looks. I just had to make a couple of repairs to the bike - speedo cable snapped (again?!?!) replaced a rivet in the exhaust that had fallen out and had to replace a fairing bolt that must have committed suicide while I was out for a ride. All replaced courtesy of Haldane's.

    Will let you know.

Hmmmm - interesting number of watchers on the Suzuki auction....it's all you lot on KB innit?

One fella that came to view...well, his jaw hit the deck and the words "It's a minter" were heard to leave his lips.

I can't wait to see what happens on auction closing day though - some bloke might get a bargain for $5000 (and I will get the chance to ride up to Waimate mibbe).
