    Safe to ride?

need to have some plastic welding done on my fairings so took them off tonight.

Life would be easier if I could ride my bike to work tomorrow but concerned aboutt he air intakes being open the way they are. (open road riding to work). Worried about the very large intakes missing. There must be filters or something in there. I am not pulling them apart to find out.

Safe to ride to work for a couple of days or should I ditch it and bum a ride off the neighbour?

There should (unless someone has removed it) be an air filter in the airbox that provides all the protection needed against debris.

thats what I thought. Then when i started pulling it apart (bearing it mind its not a honda so it doesnt just fall apart - it takes some effort) on the front just behind the fairings are two very large boxes that look like they are for trapping water or something. I think I will ride it unless someone has a big no no dont do that your bike will have a hernia before I leave at 7am in the morning.

Yeah you'll have an airbox with a filter in it (under tank) so shouldn't be an issue. On the positive side you might not have any issues with the riding a naked round as a bit more effort to go faster
Life is difficult because it is non-linear.

As I understand it a motor vehicle needs a headlight to be road-legal?

probably needs indicators too. I also understand the speed limit is 100kph. Police/legalities are not really a big concern. More concerned about potiental damage to the system.

I've investigated this as I'm still in the naked bike conversion process, and the 6 is pretty similiar. There was an argument that there could be a loss of performance due to potential intake length tuning issues, but given that (at least on the 6..) there isn't an airtight seal where they pass through the frame I doubt it matters.

As for safety, the engine should be fine with a little water coming in. Usual disclaimer applies for when you come back with bent conrods....

Did you through it down the road recently?
