How many km do you get out of set of tyres?

okay guys...doing some research here...how many KM's do you get out of a set of tyres...if your a racer I'm not really interested...but if you do trackdays I'ld like to know still...and milage on second hand tyres is also irrelivent...

And could you also post what bike you ride or if your a bike whore what style of bikes do you usually ride...and what type of tyres you useually use? like sports/sports touring/touring/high milage/budget chinese used condom tyres,etc...

and the poll isn't public so don't be scared to be totally honest

ZX12 and got 16000km plus out of Avon Azaros.....

gsxr 600, got 15,000kms out of a set of powers (1 front 2 rears), that was mix of play, couple track days, communting, touring
gsxr 600 got 6,000 out of bridgestone 014 (rear was shagged replace both)

I got 3000km out of the tyre but it was on the bike when I bought it so i guess its 4-6000ks.

from memory i got 12k out of a Z6 rear, the m1 front was still going at 16k but took it off for the Pirellis.

I think the original M1 i had on the bike lasted 5-6k rear, 8-10k front.

yeah, what's a set? I got thru 2 or 3 rears for every front. Is that the 'set'?

Bit too open ended to give a straight answer.
Are you talking legal or canvas? I suspect that would alter figures a bit from one person to the next.

Vipers - say 4,000km rear - 8,000 front
Z6 - say 10,000 rear
M3 - say 6,500 rear - 8,000 front
Azaro - maybe 12,000 rear (did 8,000 before got rid of bike)

Pilot Powers 01- R1 6500kms before i sold it. Still heaps of tread on the front about 4mm on the back. One track day, 3000km tour of south island and the general weekend rides.

Commuting only, no trackdays, no racing and virtually no motorway riding.

I just ride the things till someone says, "Eehh... those look a bit knackered!" then I put some more on. They're usually looking pretty good till I go on a group ride, then they instantly go from "There's many miles/months/trips left in them thar taahrrrs!" to "Toast. Them thar taahrrrs is toast."

About a year, give or take a group ride or two.

Edit: I actually went and read the other posts. My taahrrrs wear out at about the same time, so always get replaced as a pair. They're a matched set: sports front and sport-touring rear. The exception to this was many moons ago, when I had the VF500, and the back tyre (Arrowmax???) was made of steel, and lasted forever, and was still on the bike when I sold it 4 years after having it fitted, whereas the POS Dunslop on the front lasted about 18months.

Currently approaching 19,000kms on the original factory set of tyres on my Vulcan 800. They will both need to be replaced soon though.

Edit: just rolled over the 20,000 km mark and the tyres have had it. They are (were) Bridgestone Exedra's.

I ride the bike in my profile, it was fitted new with Rennsports, the front is still the original at 9700km. The rear tyre was replaced because the air fell out of it while sitting in the garage, the tyre was almost bare at 6300km. I put on a M3. The front is getting close to buggered. Will replace that soon, and a M3 will go on there. And the next change depending on how the rear lasts, might look at a Roadtec Z6.

I have only riden road. I am no corner freak, but being the first bike of this size I have riden, me confidence is always improving, as long as that stops before I go to far one day!
