Now I'm saving it for the rides I was already doing before the game started.
That would be less but bigger runs, away from Canterburys tag able areas in a quality over quantity kind of way.
Still like to show I'm in the know with a google pic though.

The hotel was built in the late 1800's and carried on by Mr White, the post office was also built into the building and a store was opened at the township in the days when Cobb and Co.'s coaches ran through it. They often uesd the stables for horse changes. A well known man by the name of Arthur Dobson stayed at the hotel for a long time while he built a very hard and treacherous road inland. However, the formation of the railway, and the consequent loss of the coach traffic, spoiled the business prospects of the township, and both the hotel and store were subsequently closed.

The only place I can think of would be the Bealey Hotel, which is probably right on the 100km radius marker as the crow flys, but I don't know the history.

If it existed back then it would be a good place for the Dobson's to have stayed while making the road to Otira and would have fallen out of use once the railway was operating because it's the wrong side of the river.

Unless there's maybe somewhere around Lake Lyndon/Pearson/Grasmere. Although come to think of it I think the road has been moved in the last century (aside from Old West Coast road of course). Old maps anybody?

If I can take the trouble to come up to the city, and get a few tags... as per the rules...

How the tag is "found" should not be the issue, getting a (your) bike to the tag and a photo for proof you've been there is.

So is Tagorama Dead in Canterbury?...

Is everyone just "over" it or are people just out riding more and don't need the excuse of Tagorama to get out now that the weather is better?. Seems that it was going great guns through the winter and as it started to warm up a bit enthusiasm for the tagging thing wore off....

Has the departure of our student Taggers had something to do with it?.

Everyones favourite insomniacs T-A and Guzza seem to have started sleeping at night :zzzz: instead of Tagging.

Perhaps the Rally season getting into full swing has a big bearing on it too?.

The current tag is very non-descript and damn near impossible unless you have gone past it and happened to notice it, perhaps that is why it seems to have stalled?.

I have had the week off work, but have been out riding and not really thinking about Tagging, without an active thread to back up the Tagging seems a bit pointless?.

Anyway thats enough "Blah,Blah,Blah" from me....

Stegosuarus slide at North beach, Spotted it out there one day whilst at work. I mentally stored it's location and went back with the kids one weekend only to discover it is behind a locked gate! :argh: . After further investigation I discovered the section it is on, which looks like a reserve is owned by the guy who lives in the house next door. He has this awesome slide in plain view of every kid in the neighborhood and wont let anyone use it!. Miserable old Pr**k!.

It may well have done, I know one of the guys that repaired and painted it for him, the neck part was enclosed and you slide down a sort of tunnel inside the neck, Apparently the gel coat on the fibreglass had worn down over the years and kids would get glass splinters so they did a bit of surgery and put a new slide in it.

:zzzz: The only reason it's a boring tag is because you made it one, nothing to stop you finding something interesting or hard and putting it up so long as it's within the rules of the game

Well you won't find it on Google-earth or streetview but a little work with google itself will give you the general locale, tag is under 4km's from last one....

I took a photo of another one of his works at the arts centre about 30 years ago, I think it's still there...

if it's less than 4km from the last one (Springston War Memorial) then assuming that's somenear the middle of Springston and the red circle is the 4km radius then ride all these roads and you should find it.
Doesn't look to be too many?

Hmm, is this the first tagging of a tagger?Looks like I was busted! Was that you parked up and waving at me in the carpark near the intersection at the top of the hill? I was going to stop and say hi, but thought fuck it you might be after the tag too, I'd better beat you home. There were quite a few other bikes loitering about the area too, so I didn't muck around getting home, just made it too by the look of it :sweatdrop

About 1/2km of nice shingle road, thought I'd put the road in the pic partly as a clue and partly as a warning to those whose bikes, unlike mine, haven't reached residual value yet and therefore still give a shit where they ride them.
