Whats the go still awaiting TBA time and meeting point?? is it just me or does this seem a little disorganised??
Its publicised in other threads, details from email below
I will be going straight there unless anyone wants to meet up first (say northcote mobil 10:30 am)
This weekend is the last weekend before the new ACC levies come into effect.
From next month ACC will begin collecting $30 per motorcycle registered to go into a motorcycle safety fund. We need to remind Mr Smith that 'motorcycle safety' needs to be focussed on MOTORCYCLES and that we have not gone away!
* When: 27th June, 11am
* Where: Viaduct Harbour Queens Wharf (Please note new venue)
* Why: We are still not happy with ACC and have a message for the minister.
Featuring a special guest from the Beehive who you have all been longing to meet
NOTE: This event will be LOUD but LEGAL and is open to all
so to be clear I wont be on the normal ride but will be going to the protest
depending on what happens may ride the long way to Puhoi afterwards

Hi yachtie, I just got the insurance and went in to Cyclespot to buy the SP2 but it had sold already
Took a CBR1000RR for a ride, and while it was very smooth, and had heaps of power, it wasn't really what I was after. So for now I just keep looking :(

FYI the new fees have allready come into effect.
A bit of a pointless protest if you ask me but sounds like fun
Had a good laugh listening to talk back with all the desiel owners crying over there acc fees going up.

No acutually i will just go for a ride as normal.
Just read the bronze thread and have decided it sounds like a waste of time.
Too little too late, should have kept on at them after the bikeio.
I will be at the gas station as normal if anyone wants a ride.

dont ever think anything is a waste of time ......ACC are putting fees up and guess what they are privatising ACC thats right they have sent 600 letters out to clients on ACC saying they are sending them to Gallagher Bassett .So the fees we pay are to send ACC clients to private company so the private company can screw ACC clients over with ruthless tactics etc this protest goes way futher then just an increase in motorcyle lieves this is about human rights which this county is seeming to lose dog eat dog attitude of im alright jack ............. so when some u know or urself ends up on ACC u will really wonder where ur money u paid went when u wait 4 weeks or more for money ur entitle too and then told heres 62% of ur gross wage from the last year as how they work it out etc etc u can look into that urself if u feel u want to its your right to say NO or say fine ill take it in the ass along with GST 15% thanks National i knew u wouldent let us down ....................

How old are you? Do you think some punctuation was needed there? Its' you are, NOT ur.
I have been on acc quite a few times over my life and have never had a problem with anything they have done.
I have no problem in paying my way, but the amount was excesive, thats why i went to wellington.
And yes i would want them to privatize ACC so i have a choice of what cover i think is best for me.
It proves how little you know in regard to ACC as it is 80% of the last 4 weeks gross pay for the first 3 months then it is 80% of your last years total gross pay.
The things you should be protesting about is why are suicides classed as accidents, why sports are not paying acc.
Also why are Emo kids not classed as a high ACC risks.

I am so sorry.I did not realise this was a spelling bee , ANYWAYS before u open "your" mouth maybe check ur facts 80% is stated yes in reality it is less , ask anyone on ACC. Also i hope u have a minor accident as i would not like u seiously hurt then again (lol) ... but anyways , and you end up on ACC and find out in todays real world how it works .Oh and u think u better off under private go try living in America and see how u get on

Yawn. I am also struggling to read what you have written.
I wont bother explaining why BoristheBiter is right about the 80% payment, or your lack of knowledge about how GST is implemeted. Please take this to another thread, it is off topic. This has nothing to do with the Auckland regular weekend ride.

To hear anothers point of view does not mean you have to adopt it, nor do you have to make everyone else wrong so you can be right. Have conviction in your view of the world and allow others the right to do the same.

Sounds very fair.
I didn't mind the abbreviated spellink. The use of single or a few letters (such as u/ur) to denote words has been in practice on the interwobble for years.
As this is an electronic forum perhaps boris & pdath need to get with the times.

They have a point.
When I dont see punctuation, all I read is:
"blah blah bah ... dont take me seriously 'cause I am not smart enough to use English properly.... Blah blah..."
OR
"blah blah... dont take me seriously because I am a 13 year old texting from my cellphone... blah"

Punctuation was put into English for a reason. So that, in written form, it makes sense, and does not sound/read like the ramblings of an idiot. Without it the sentence sounds like, well, a rambling idiot. And I could not be bothered reading past the first few words.

Judge me before you know me :) ....................
Thats the basic problem. In this form of communication, the only things that people have to judge you on are the content of your message, and the delivery of that content.
If the content is difficult to read, then you are unlikely to be able to put your point across effectively. To be blunt, your posts were extremely hard to grok, even in the context of origin; i.e. txt. If someone had sent me that as a txt, I would have read about two lines and then deleted it. For your posts, I don't think I even made it that far.
To have people read and pay attention to what you think, you need to present it in a paletable and readable format. That means some punctuation and sentence structure. I personally don't give a toss regards an occasional word conctraction. But without rhythm or flow, people will skim at best, or ignore, rather than actually read.
We aren't being grammar Nazis here, just asking you to make your posts vaguely legible. If you want us to spend our time to read your thoughts then please do us, and yourself, the honour of presenting them in a more coherent manner.
/steps off soapbox :-)
Back on subject, I have been on ACC, though not recently. I seem to recall that I didn't get anything for a period. I then got 80% of my pre-tax income, which was then subsequently taxed. I also seem to recall a proviso that they could reduce it further if I ended up staying on ACC longer than the standard accepted recovery period for that injury.
However, ACC has also replaced several race-damaged helmets for me when they did that sort of thing :-)

Look I posted my post at the end of a long day, and it may have come out a little aggressively. I am not saying you are an idiot, or stupid, or 13. I am saying that when I read writing like that, I find it difficult in my head to get around that image of who I am giving my opinion to, and it makes me care less about your opinion.
Apologies if I was insulting.

slow cold starting is no excuse
change your oil and put the bike in the garage overnight
The bike has had an oil change, new battery and a new regulator, is stored in a garage at night time and the whole wiring harness checked over closely.
Twice in the last 2 weeks I've been out riding and had the bike completely died needing to be taken back to the workshop on the back of a tow truck. On Thursday something started going wrong with the starter motor, and the bike would barely crank over. I was lucky to get it started and nearly got stranded - again.

The trick is not to back off completly when the wheel rises- but to back off enough to let the wheel down slowly to get control of the front end again, while maintaining acceleration to pass, and making sure the wheel is straight. The last thing you want is a head shake while passing alongside a moving cage...
:shit:

In fact quite a few problems can be caused by getting a fright and chopping the throttle suddenly. It takes some faith to slow down more gradually.

Good for a change but i will stick to our nice clean roads up here and what is it with all the cops down there, lucky (or unlucky) to see one up here.
Did have a laugh at the cow cocky with the cuppa on his bike, all class.
Maybe do Mangawhi and some extra back roads next week. Any thoughts??

It made for some very suspect cornering. At the end we were going slow as you weren't sure of what was in the corner.
At least Din warned us first, but i didn't think it would be that bad.

Has anyone been down Ahuroa Road which goes from the Puhoi Pub through to West Coast Road (aka, onto Woodcocks). It looks like a real back road to get to the Puhoi Pub.
I checked a couple of maps, and the road doesn't even appear on that many. Trust Google Maps, it has it.
Is it a sealed road? Gravel?

I went out riding today between Waiwera and Waitoki (sp ???) along the back roads.
There was a lot of debry. There was a lot of gravel on corners. The blustery winds made cornering interesting when you suddenly became exposed from the elements. There were wet and dry sections, and small amounts of oil floating to the surface.
Still a good ride - just means you need to take it a bit slower so you have more time to react. :)
