My brakes require me to pull the lever in more and more to stop over time (even after bleeding them, pads wearing down I guess) my VTR250 doesn't have any sort of adjustment on the brake lever to keep it from jamming my fingers (I brake with two fingers, others on throttle).
I've just ordered some adjustable levers (length and distance) that also fold up: http://raceevolution.co.nz/123/partt..._details/16850 I'll let you know how they go when I get them. I can't wait

Get that brake checked. It wont be the lever. Check the brake hose, leaks in the caliper and re-bleed.

Yup. I'd be checking your brake system before going and changing levers. I would put new pads and bleed the system first before anything else. Check for leaks. Check hoses for signs of brittle. etc. Shorter lever won't solve your fading brake problem.

how old is your VTR? if its more than say five years old you might have a fucked old rubber hose. You can get a steel hose made up for cheap-ish. And dont piss about, brakes are pretty bloody important.

I suggest two things, clean all the crap off the pistons where they protrude from the seals and push them right back in, then pump 'em out again ( the stiction on the seals can cause 'em to pull the pistons back to the original position, so they don't take up the slack when the pads wear down...Hondas seem to be bad for this ) This will 'reset' them.
    And a braided line (s)

Hey what's with those half metal grips? Is it purely bling, or is there actually a half decent reason for having them? I'd imagine losing grip when wet or whatever. Each to their own of course, I was just wondering.

With those I believe you can adjust the length of the lever. from full length down to a shortie.

Yeah I can see that. It was the grips I was asking about. Cheers.
