So who is coming to Frostys' spanner night?
Here is a bloody good chance to have a tinker and wreck somebodys elses bike!
I will be heading over to Westgate for the usual 6.30pm meet and then riding over to see Frosty. Its mandatory I go for a ride tonight as it will be 3 weeks til I get to go out again.........:weep:
Heck yes, I'll be there. We should all go for a good ride to get there.
I'm not going to make any comments about corner markers...
Frosty: Are you coming to meet us at Westgate?
Oh, and the traffic has been pretty chaotic on the NorthWestern this arvo...
Hope it clears in the next 15 minutes... Going in from the City.
FROSTY

Yeah thanks Frosty for putting it on. Didn't think i'd be getting my hands THAT dirty hah. Darn sprockets. At least it'll come off easier next time!
Errr sorry to those that I didn't introduce myself to. :innocent:
So what was the secret ride that everyone buggered off to?
Got the little scooter up to 105km/h uphill on the way home. Race tuck!
FROSTY
26th March 2009, 08:23
Yep poor ol Klingon. as far as issues she certainly was unlucky enough to have had most of em.
First off the sprocket nuts were glued on with the WRONG kind of Loctite,a wheel bearing fell out,the sprockets had the wrong mounting holes and the chain was the wrong length

Can't quite figure out from the calendar (above) whether this happens in two places or if you just pick a place each week. Anyway, I am planning to turn up at the Albany Noel Leeming carpark at 1930 and see what happens...

Well, to be honest as it stands I do not feel confident enough in my abilities to handle my motorbike properly on roads full of turns, traffic and intersections!
I need more local practice around where I live for the time being, where everything is pretty much quiet.
After-which I think i'll be more than happy to attend! Give it a week I reckon!

Hi Im Pete and I cant do hill starts :weep:
lol
Easy on the lil ol hornets. Plenty of gas (say 6 grand?) and eeeeeease the clutch out... all in the clutch control, just keep enough power on so that it doesn't start to bog down.
Havent done hillstarts in a while, could be a good option for the night :)

i thought the idea had some potential, and could be good with some newer riders too.
Take the exercises and dial them up a notch. See how far we can go with those basic skills
And practise some hill starts up and over curbs. If anyone can chuck a couple of bits of 4x2 in their pack it'd be helpful for that :2thumbsup

Chuck em in the gutter to make it easier to step up and over the curb. then take em out once you get the hang of it. 2 bits about 100mm long is all ya need, can run 2 lanes, one piece per lane

I'm keen to practice emergency braking in the wet...
Just in case some dozy fucking bitch changes in to you lane in the wet during rush hour traffic, indicating after she's started the move, and you have to slam the brakes on to avoid hitting her...
The conciquenses of this, if you get it wrong, could be (just hypothetically), you end up locking the front wheel, the bike goes under you and you go skidding down the fast lane, rolling a few times, and end up layed on your back stunned... The bike meanwhile gets scraped to buggery.
Just hypothetically, of course !

Keen for anything. See you guys tomorrow night.

I made my first one tonight. Good to meet a top bunch and learn some useful stuff. I'll be adjusting that brake pedal and trying to park a bit more safely in future, for sure. I hope to be back in a couple of weeks... Cheers. :apint:

The conciquenses of this, if you get it wrong, could be (just hypothetically), you end up locking the front wheel, the bike goes under you and you go skidding down the fast lane, rolling a few times, and end up layed on your back stunned... The bike meanwhile gets scraped to buggery.
I've done that before!
On my first day of riding. :bleh:

Just spoken to the insurance company,..... The other party (for other party, read Stupid dumb arse bitch!) has admitted liability !
Wooo hoo, no $850 excess for the bike and $250 excess on the gear !!!!
Now, just fingers crossed the bike is a write off !!!

Seems odd that all Hyo's are apparently cursed to end their existence in this manner. May I suggest a not-Hyo for your replacement?
Just a suggestion.
Also, perhaps a full account of what happened?

Pretty much a full account :)
I'm keen to practice emergency braking in the wet...
Just in case some dozy fucking bitch changes in to you lane in the wet during rush hour traffic, indicating after she's started the move, and you have to slam the brakes on to avoid hitting her...

Why do Hyosung riders keep saying that? When GSXRTrace had her Suzuki written off :crybaby: she wasn't so thrilled about it, but Hyosung riders get told their bike is a write off and they are all like :wari:

It's not written off yet... and unfortunately, it probably wont be ! :(....
The reason behind that is.... I don't really want to climb back on a bike that's been in an accident... that and the fact that I'll have to declare it's been accident damaged when selling (in about 8 weeks), so will get less cash for it...
I still strongly maintain that bike has been excellent :) I've loved it...

Why do you think it wont be? Usually fairing damage = expensive = write off.

Naked bike = not much fairing...

Oh, a naked ho-bag. Fully faired bikes are better - have an accident and the insurance buys you a new bike.

The real question is, why do so many Hyobag riders throw their bikes down the road. Is it to collect insurance money, or are they just trying to punish the hyobag in return...?
Arse. I think that was my last NASS.
I fly out on Wednesday morning. Should be coming up for a weekend soon for a farewell. I'll send out invite PMs soon.

When did this happen? Well good that you are alright.
I'm not sure but, for some cases, the insurance company could give you another (new) GT250. If that happens, is it a good thing or a bad thing?

Gubb, what will we do without you ??,
Someone's going to have to put on 30kg, and shave their head.... oh, and borrow a white hornet ? :D
Got the news today that the Hyo is a repair job :argue:, and it's going to take 4, (YES FOUR) weeks.... so... May well see you guys at the pub again.
bon voyage, Gubb. the capital's nice. missed NASS last week because the missus and i were there (Wellington, that is). it was the last few days of the Monet and the Impressionists exhibition at Te Papa. so didn't want to miss it. yup, still eyeing that Street Triple. if only Triumph would lower the seat to 760mm. mean time, will just have to make do with me F650GSTwin.
