Is it possible to only put it half in gear so when you release the clutch it jumps out of gear ? Say going from 3rd to 4th should it jump back into 3rd and not neutral ?

And Pete, the hornet gearboxes seem to be a little prone to false neutrals. My lil ol' hornet found one between 5th and 6th sometimes, usually when i was being lazy with my shifting. Make sure your lever is adjusted correctly (you remember how?) and use positive pressure when changing gears and you should be fine. An oil change may well help too :niceone:

I can't see why not to be honest - an approved motorcycling mentor gives you a certificate stating you have completed a certain amount of hours and shown a certain degree of competence, surely that is as good a reason to allow sitting a full license sooner as passing a defensive driving course?

I have to agree with you there - what we really should have is a much more comprehensive evaluation of ability and when someone can pass that very tough evaluation they get a full license.

It certainly is all of the above... However, it's a matter of weighing up whether loosing the will to live over a 4 night period is worth taking either 3 or 6 months off your restricted.... For me, it was..

If you're happy on a 250, then I would I would just be patient, not waste your time and money.... However, on the flip side, if you're clambering to climb aboard a bigger bike, then consider it ! :)

I did the Riderskills course... which, well, other than the ocasional (and I mean occasional) change of the word car for bike.... was totally oriented at cars, and 16 year olds.
Having said this... The practical is done on a bike, which for me, made it more sensible... and the constructive advice I recieved was very helpful.

The numbers depend on the weather normally :), but usually at least 8 - 10, up to 20 odd...

2 choices...

Meet at the Shell @ Westgate for depature at 7PM, or meet at the Car Park at Albany for about 7:30 ish... (Car Park is the one with Animates, Rebel Sport Etc)

It's usually a ride straight through on the Coatesville Riverhead Road, through to the car park from Westgate, then a bunch of excercises, such as emergency braking, cornering etc, all done in the car park !

It's good fun and practical at the same time :D

sorry guys wont be there for you to make fun of me tonight :P, have an appointment with the hospital tonight where they will begg me to change my mind and go on chemotherapy but my mind is set so its not like there guna get through to me, im never going through chemo again so id rather die from cancer than go through chemo, well actually id like to die while peacefully riding my motorbike :) but in my oppinion nothings guna kill me for a while yet :) staying positive living life to the fullest possible

Well I'm back from NP earlier than I thought and I've come home to a driveway that is being ripped up by a Bobcat as I speak. Will have to do a bit of 4wd'n just to get out the gate. :blink: Looks like I'll have to bring the Tricker out for a ride instead.

I was all set to come along tonight, with work finishing at a reasonable hour... But developed a killer headache. Caffeine withdrawals, I think.
So I'm home hoping that a cocktail of painkillers will do the trick.

after chatting with the hospital reps, they've managed to convince me to go on chemo, what i didn't know was that they had sabotaged me! they had my x there helping convince me! and my best mate too! but sadly the worst part is that chemo for me is every Wednesday night :( so I'm going to miss you lot heaps, it took a lot of convincing to get me to give up n.a.s.s every Wednesday night, but as part of the agreement, i can have someone with me as i take the chemo so it will help me to have someone there with me so ive chosen my best mate to stay with me every wednes day night (was only allowed to pick one :( ) so im going to miss you lot and ive decided to take some riding courses to help me with developing my skills and practice alot
