Nice. Is that the road down to Mangakino and back Old Taupo Rd?

We went across to Matamata way via Scottsman Vally, Then right onto another road after Walton golf course, Then onto Maitai road, Then up SH27?, Then left to the shortcut to Tirau, Backroad to Putaruru, Then old Taupo to Tok, THen pines to some town just before Mankykino, The left onto some other road heading towards Noroma then all the way up twisty twisty FUN FUN! :) Thats about the best description I can provide other then Motowhere link :P

Well done Leyton, cool video!! Yep great ride and once we left the pea-soup in Hamilton the weather was absolutely perfect!! Best time of year to ride, I think, and a pity a few more couldn't join us!! 6 bikes with 2 pillions and as always good ride and good company and the coffee and food at Whakamaru was excellent, a must stop for any future rides that way.

To Rose,

What a happy girl you were, especially when you were riding your bike.

It has been a pleasure to have known you. I can still here your laughter and oh those pics you kept trying to take taking while i wasn't watching on the far north trip.

I will miss you Rose, may you continue to flower.

Always be thinking of you.

all my love xox

Are you saying what I think you are?

I heard about a tragedy around the east Coast, from a friend who was on the ride - apparently she was from Hamilton

From Gisborne Herald

State Highway 35, near Tolaga Bay, was closed for three hours yesterday after a 29-year-old Hamilton woman died when the motorcycle she was riding went under a truck.

Sergeant Jo Chalmers of Gisborne police said at about 10.25 yesterday Rosemary Devina McDonald Orsbourn took a corner too wide, went into a slide and under a light truck as it came around the corner.

"She was a very experienced motorcyclist - she had been riding since she was 18."

She was part of a group of 30 motorcyclists.

Her fiance and brother were part of the group and were at the scene when she died.

"We're not sure whether speed was a factor, whether she has hit a rut or hit the brakes too hard," Ms Chalmers said.

The woman owned a racing bike she took to meetings around New Zealand but she was not riding it at the time.

Yes, Rose was riding at the time, she crossed the centre line ( took a corner to wide) and hit a 4wheel drive, she die with inturnal injuries.
their best man to be tried to revive her.

It makes me feel a bit gooey that you were right on Wed avo and I am wondering if I have met Rose, I don't think so though. Although I have no personal connection with Rose it still hits home as we are riders alike. Its a personal reminder that one is not immune to higher risk of our enjoyment.

Have they announced a funeral ?

It was a pleasure to have known you & ridden with you. The trips we have shared with you were all the better for your presence. The Tutakaka loop will now forever be a special memory.
Gonna miss you girl . Thoughts & love to Matt & Stu

i reckon learn on the hyo-steed.. they are a big bike. i was blasting around two up on mine when i had it and i thort it was a good to learn on.. no wheelies not to much power etc.. unlike my new bike where not only do you have to watch what the pillion is doing but watch throttle movements etc so you dont loose your passanger or pop unwanted wheelies.

I was looked at R1's last week :)

I might settle for a twin of some description though :) Perhaps a new EFI Hyosung :) The R1's are a bit out of my budget and having all that grunt under the tank is probably just going to annoy me not being able to use it on the road without the inherited risks :)

Well I just found that the warrenty work on my fairing has failed after 320km. And I also found out during the though inspection of the Hyosung that the chain link retainer has gone.......

On further inspection I can see my back sprocket wearing out at a stupid rate..

And on even more inspection the reason why my bike did not start on the ride of the road is that my stand switch is failing..

Braided what? If its to do wh breaks then its overrated, just use your gears

Dont you worry ckai, the mental gixxa I used to putt around on has bucket loads of torque. Big juicy mouthfuls of the stuff. Good for taking off at the lights and making boy racers cry

Just a note on a ride this weekend (Easter). Nothing really got planned so if anyone is keen for a Sunday ride just meet at the Hotel Carpark 10-10.30am on the Sunday and take it from there. (I, along with some others will be away on the Sunday). As always anyone who wants to come earlier and enjoy the full buffet breakfast for $10 is more than welcome.

If anyone is interested a work colleague has just purchased a Harley and Trina and I are going for a ride with him (and pillion) out to Kawhia on the Easter Friday afternoon, leaving the Hotel car park about 12.30-1.00 pm. If your not doing anything come along. 6 of us did it last Sunday (the Kawhia ride that is) and the roads are in good nick. Not much else to do on the Friday with all the pubs closed!!!!

its easter you should all be at church on sunday and not riding! damn sinners!

Actually easter is not a christian thing, don't read about bunnies and Easter eggs in the bible, in fact you'll never find the word easter in the bible - Easter goes back to a lot of different things none christian practices or customs - one being Eastoria; a fertility festival, hence the bunnies and eggs.
Its an adulteration of christian and Jewish tradition with capitalism and eastern mythology

The observation of the death and resurrection of the messiah, the same time as the Jewish celebration of deliverance from Egypt; is on the fourteenth day of Nisan (a lunar month which starts on the first full moon in the latter part of March and the first part of April) which I believe was last Wednesday. A big feed with candles, wine and roast lamb, bitter herbs and sweet herbs, unleavened bread, singing, toasts, good friends and thanksgiving.
Part of the observance was to clean your house out - a symbol of getting rid of sin in your life - of course that time of year in the northern hemisphere is spring, hence the term 'spring cleaning'

Just thought I'd clear that up - in case anyone wanted to know:whocares:

I'll probably do the Coro tomorrow, if any one is interested. Normally meet up with a couple of friends at BP in Ngaruawahia - does 9 am sound good, any one interested in tagging along?
We're not fast riders, but don't stop every 5 minutes either. Happy to wait for slower riders at given points.
Lunch at Coromandel, cupa tea at Whangamata?

I had to stop for a bunch of brain dead youths running across the road short of a stoppy on the ride home last night in the dark, I was not ammused. Could meet at Gull servo about 1.45pm....PM or post here if interested...oh and no doubt I will be giving thanks that I am out riding...in the true spirit of Easter...

It was Malcolm on his CB600R (thats what I'm calling it)

The CBR600R with the 'clip-on's removed and bars fitted, he's modified the fairing so it's still got enough lock

The ride was a bit frustrating with so much holiday traffic, poor Leyton on his 250 having to try to wind that bike up to get passed
But nice to be out on the road, none the less.

Riding my bike is a recreational activity, I don't use it for work or commuting so I don't worry about the economy of my tyres as much
For me; the better the tyre the more I enjoy riding, why scrimp on the rubber if you're only using it for the pure enjoyment of riding?

So it's a matter of the best tyre for my riding style (or lack of style), for the type of roads I frequent, and the type of bike I ride

At the moment my preference is Conti Sport Attacks - only got 3500ks from the last pair - but what a blast it was killing them - peace of mind

So, hi world! I'm that chick that was brave/silly enough to get on the back of squids bike on that ride back in jan sometime. Finally quit my weekend job, so I mite even be able to finally come on some rides, which would be great :)

Anyway, r those boots still looking for a home carver? Not for me, I've probably got the some of the smallest feet ever known, but my partners just (finally!) realised that being on 2 wheels is the way of the future and is looking for gear...

You still need a few pics bud... I bet you'd love it on the back of the little 2smoker I took for a spin the other day ;)

If you are on the roads around town over the weekend or at night be very careful the V8 associated cage hoons are out in force. Racing us down Te Rapa straight at 6 pm last night. Have a good weekend all and think about the charity ride next Sunday, if anyone interested pm me

197 pages of bullocks and shit ripping should give you an idea :D

Yeah they still go for rides (I got banned because my bike wasn't green!).

I would say 'we' head down to the Te Rapa tavern on Wednesdays but, again, I'm not invited ;)

You'll know this lot at the tavern from the pretty faces and the bunch of motorbicyle gear spread out on the ground. Head down, then you'll be able to find out what the plan is for the weekend.

Only Murray bites by the way...

Hi there,

Yeah we still get out for rides - but with some of us nanna's the rides are becoming a little weather dependent. A few (anywhere from 10-20) meet at the Te Rapa Tavern between 5.30 - 6.30 ($7 gets you a burger and a pint of your favoutite coke/orange or beer) and talk bike stuff for an hour or two and try and come up with an idea for the weekend ride. More than happy to have you join us and I won't bite!!

Down at the tavern look for the crowd sitting outside, gear strewn all about the place and there will be someone smoking or rolling up a smoke so pretty much just follow your nose. (or the sun gleaming off Mr.Koz's shiny head)

It's 3 down 9 up. You only use one break and that's the right hand lever. Make sure when you use it, you have to grab it hard and lean forward. Don't be alarmed when the back wheel lifts up, this is perfectly normal. Gently release the brake and the back will cost down to earth...

:bash:

You must be pretty excited. I know I would be after that long. Awesome stuff.

Does it mean they are a better rider than you if they think they 'own you'?
Considering their motto is "most bins win"
I would think you would have to fall off in order to beat them
they seem to aspire to be hooligans and fall off? Not that I'm criticizing them
I personally think a good rider is safe, stable and rides at a level commensurate with their ability, regardless of experience

All Lucifers mates who are helping him cause trouble for Jesus and his mates, were cursed with dark skin.
Any way if your a good mormon you get to go to a better planet when you die
If you're an even better mormon and climb up the temple higher than others, wear holy underpants, then you may even get your own planet. You get to be God of your own planet
But you have to have lots of celestial sex to populate it.

Where as Christianity is a cool mix of Druids, eastern fertility holidays, sun worship and Judaism. They prey to the son of Zeus and use it to control the ignorant masses. The pope, who wears alien clothes and a hat that can detect the voice of god, is the boss. You get to hate Jews and Muslims, and generally if your not confessing your sin to a priest your preying for prosperity and joining Amway - where they teach you to smile and shake hands with conviction

.........have I insulted everyone yet
