Helmet is recommended. The trick to getting a seemingly stable video is to include a corner of your helmet in the frame. Just a tiny bit is all you need. When I use the chest mount, there's definitely a lot more vibration perceived.
GoPro sell Anti-Fog inserts though I've never needed to use one

In the winter. Anytime they spend time pointed into the sun to warm them up when using the waterproof case.

Chest mount is good. Helmet cam can be a bit shaky and look very high on replay.

Having just watched a few vids of helmet and chest mounts I think helmet is the go.

Whats the best helmet mount? Just use the Velcro system?

Just to throw it out there, how do the Contour roam2 cameras compare?

I have used the original gopro HD with helmet and chest mount. But mainly use chest now as it gives the viewer the feeling they are on the bike with the hands and bars visible. I have stuck a gopro mount to my roost deflector and it seems to work fine. I also definitely get the anti-fog inserts.

Here is some of my footage, nothing special just plodding along. Also cool for water sports too.

The one that comes with the camera.
The double sided tape is strong enough that Padmei got pulled off the bike by a vine that caught the camera and all it did was tilted the camera up slightly.

I don't think there is a velcro mount. Yeah, the 3M mounts that come with it (curved for helmet or flat for flat surfaces) are really good. You need to apply them and leave them for a few hours to get the best adhesion but once it's set, it's strong as (though you can pry it off using a hair dryer if you need).

Crack up story about Padmei. Any video of it?

They all have pros and cons but most just look at the price.

If the gopro has the fogging issue that some are claiming then I would stay clear of them.

I use the drift hd170 as it can hold a 32g card and a bigger battery that can last over 5 hours, downside is you need a pretty quick computer to edit them, but with powerdirector it is a breeze to edit.

Those whose GoPros fog, is that only with the closed door? Or with the skeleton (open) door as well?

I have the Hero2 HD. Have had issues with fogging when riding Taupo on cold days. I replaced the back door with the skeleton door and haven't had an issues since. Some people recommend using a small packet of those dry beads that come inside various products like new shoes. Otherwise as said Gopro have some inserts.
