That game that all the cool people are playing.

Rules are easy...

#1 - Find the tag and reproduce the photo (as best as possible). The first person to post a found tag gets to place the next tag. If you get a tag, but somebody else posts their picture first, you lose.

#2 - Take the tag to a new location, get the photo and post it here. Give a few hints so the next person can figure out where the tag is located. Try to place the tags in interesting locations, maybe a bit of history that can be found down some nice twisties.

#3 - Tag must be a) findable and b) may be placed on a dirt road if a street bike can make it. Maintained gravel is OK, but make sure to let folks know that gravel is required to get to your tag. We don't want to exclude those who don't like to get dirty.

#4 - File photos are NOT permitted. You gotta ride to play this game.

#5 - Your bike has to be in the TAG picture

To start us off..
Think i can tow that behind my bike.

Cool another game!.Just to make it clear to others, the "tag" is just the picture, there is no item or token involved.Thats the 6th game now!

Come on guys lest we forget how to play.

mmmm, I had absolutely no idea where this was and now I have the very slightest. Which is not saying a lot.

I was thinking though, how accurate do we have to be with the "placement" of the motorbicycle? Roughly? Close enough? You're pushing it now? Pin point GPS, sun dial, compass bearing, bang on?

Just wondering.

You have to duplicate his pic,but with your bike in it in place of his. Any viewer would have no hesitation in recognisng its the same place. Its about the ride as much as the pic....I reckon i found out where it is on the first evening he posted it.

its here (http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=hamilton&sll=-41.244772,172.617188&sspn=44.991266,79.101562&ie=UTF8&g=hamilton&ll=-37.788467,175.288351&spn=0.000364,0.000603&t=h&z=21)

I was going to do the plane, but then i saw the gun, but you cant really see that from the road, so maybe it wasnt that good. oh well.

Yeah, I'd hate to take a smaller cc bike through Fillery rd as the metal is very deep in places & you have to watch out for the locals ( or regular travellers of this road ) as they seem to know the road well but forget about everyone else :eek:

Why, did you get a strange reaction insomnia01? Ha ha, no nothing to speak of for me. I felt a bit of a divvy at the other tag though, as it was quite busy. Wish I had gone down now but only had a quick look at the tag before I left and didn't realise it wasn't from the road.

Yeah I went Waitomo Valley Road from SH39, great ride but a bit chilly out yesterday.

The side roads are the best. This particular one is bloody great, and it does a big loop heading south. I used to ride it on the bi-cycle when I was a wee lad. It's much easier and more fun with an engine (there's some bloody big hills to climb!).

I was gonna do Mangapiko Road (I think that's what it's called which is also a good road to practice cornering hard. [There's a location hint right there].

Spaz and I took a road further south which leads you back to some main road on the way to Kawhia. That was pretty cool as well. South Waikato has all the best roads :D

Bam and the tag is gone!
New one up later today hopefully! Had perfect weather on the way out there. Followed a line of cars doing 110-120 the whole way. When i ride alone i find myself doing 80-100 but following others i found to be really good. Looks like i just beat the rain as the sky darkened on the way home :)

When i got there the camera wouldn't take a photo as it had no battery. I kept trying and it looked like i got one so all i could do was pray it was on the card when i got home. Lucky for me it was and the trip wasnt a waste! So check your batteries before ya leave people :bleh:

My mother likes this game and didn't want me to make it easy so she told me to remove some words. Then the girlfriend came home and told me to remove more words. So don't blame me i was going to make it easy!

If the gates are closed just do a long shot into the carpark where this sign is or just take a photo of the front sign. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out from the info on the sign.

I think i need to streetfighter my bike because the more plastic it loses the better it looks!

And then they even make me go overseas every two years to places like Bali, Oz and Fiji ... for free.

:sigh: it's a hard life ;)

POT :p

So technically, you would get even more holidays than all the other teachers? And how the hell did you get into that subject. Come on, tell the truth, you wanted to be a flight attendant didn't you?

And what the hell does "POT" mean? I'm an unlearned one so be gentle ;)

Good to see people making the most of the good weather! Updated the maps again. I think we need to head east more :bleh:

Gisbourne and the Bay it is!! :scooter:

The roads out East are all flat and straight...

Southeast is more betterer...Whitehall, French Pass, etc etc etc

But that would be the 'Bay of Plenty' region, not the Waikato.

I haven't noticed a BOP tag o rama yet.

Yeah it was about a 3hr round trip I think, (I wish my bike had a clock on it). That was the longest ride I have had on my bike so far, believe it or not.

Finally I know where one is. Obviously I need to get out to TA more often.

1 question what area is considered as "Waikato" for the purposes of this game?
How far in each direction is acceptable.

You know me so well ... I actually have a uniform and life preserver at home and practise the safety briefings in my spare time

And, ya know, it was a bit "pot" calling the "kettle" suggesting I don't ride my motasickle :ride:

Well I think Waikato is the Waikato Basin. Waihi is pushing it a bit.. All cred to Jenral for doing a 3 hour adventure...
I guess the decider will be if there is any takers for it :)

Well we are in the Waikato phone book, my number starts with 07, and we come under environment waikato. Yes Waihi is definitely in the Waikato.

YOU DA MAN!!!:clap::niceone: AWESOME EFFORT
As for the clock issue.. buy a cheap wrist watch ( something that can take a hit or two ) strap it to your handle bar somewhere nice & tight

And so is the COROMANDEL PENINSULA :2thumbsup:2thumbsup

I guess it depends on what you use as a guide for boundary purposes... I utilise www.ew.govt.nz & use this as reference to regional boundaries & YES WAIHI IS IN THERE... just :sweatdrop:sweatdrop

Just a rough idea of boundaries maybe? (http://maps.google.co.nz/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=-38.130236,175.9021&spn=2.946779,5.817261&z=8&msid=111341246503350606582.00046e37eceedb49c2e3c)
Really so long as there is someone who can get the tag there shouldn't be a problem but if you put something on the tip of the Coromandel Peninsula and no one wants to go there it becomes a bit pointless.

Now thats a bloody good idea. I bought a Oxford clock and then returned it cos it was crap. Said you could use the buttons with gloves NOT
Said there was a backlight - there was but if you pushed the button long enough to activate the light, the time was reset to 00:00 and the date to Jan 05, temp gauge was handy though.

But I will look at the watch idea... not that the sv has an awful lot in the way of handlebars to attach a watch to!!

(I wish my bike had a clock on it). .

Funny how useful a clock is on a bike. When I bought the SVS I saw the clock and thought "what a waste of space that's gonna be!" But I use it all the time as it turns out. Means I can leave the watch off the wrist and be a little more comfortable with the jacket sleeve zipped up. Plus ya get to see how short a time it takes you to get from Raglan to Whatawhata...not that I'd ever do that of course you unnerstand...(best is 18 minutes so far).......

Na Waihi's not pushing it - although I would say it may be pushing it in winter. In summer it's a totally different story ;) I'm keen but I need to find the time...

Both you fella's have hit the nail on the head. If the tag sits for too long...re-tag by last person again. This weekend might be a go for this one though.

Bloody big boundaries going right to BOP (especially out onto the water ;)) and right up to Pukky. In saying that, we have managed to go up there already without too much probs.

I say let it run and see what happens. Remember the whole idea of it is about the ride not the actual tag.

I brought mine from the warehouse for @ $10 ... when I do the Grand challenge I strap mine to the top of the fork brace & use it as my timer, between that & the clock on the bike I can keep a good eye on my pace

I had a Warehouse watch that I cable tied to my handle bar - perfect until it gets dark, but by then the time of day (night?) is well down my priority list.

The new bike has a clock in the dash.

Yeah, Unfortunately with the GC you ride through the night / early morning so a light on said watch is a must..mine has a big button on the face that is easily activated with gloves on & lights up well whilst on the move

It took us a bit to work it out. I knew where the old Cornish pump house was from the last time I had been over at the mining centre. I thought there would be a road and parking up there, but when we found just a walking track I thought "Oh well, if Jenral can get up there we can too!". Mind you, it was during the day so we scared a few people away into the bushes when they heard us coming up the hill

Rain & showers weren't too bad. It was extremely windy around Te Aroha, riding with a 20 degree lean on just to keep in a straight line was fun :ride:
