Not getting what you want or expect(ed) CAN be depressing. Even (so called) Grown ups know this. Such disappointment should not be fatal. The "I want" group override's the "I NEED" group. What I regarded as being luxuries ... many now regard as essential.

Moral values depend on examples they've seen and experienced. Usually with approval from those they know and trust. Often a parent ... but usually (and almost always) a friend. Choose your friends carefully ... They can get you into a power of shit. Some of mine sure did ... or I got them into a power of shit ... (we sort of took turns).

It's a crime only if you get caught (apparently) ... 18 years of undetected crime (in the armed forces) gets you a medal. And totally deserved in only a few cases. I was chatting with an old mate of mine at the pub last night, he mentions he bought a new Harley then asks me “have you got a bike yet”

I pondered on that question after answering regretfully “no”.

I was met with a tirade of questions “why not!?”, “what’s wrong with ya!?” etc etc.

It got me thinking...

I don’t have a bike because I am on my restricted license.
And quite frankly you wouldn’t catch me dead on another 250cc or LAMS.
I need 1,000cc plus.

But that would count me out of getting my full license (because I don’t have said bike).

...What are the actual chances of me getting caught on a big bike? = very minimal I reckon.
Because quite frankly the current law system just doesn’t sit well with me.

This has left me thinking - jump straight to a big bike or keep my head down and tow the line??

Miss that feeling of riding a big bike and feeling/hearing that power.

I've been riding since steam was invented and I would not go near a sprot bike over 750cc, even on track. Especially on track to be fair.

I get the more power buzz, but you can't get anywhere near accessing it on the road without being a fuck knuckle. They are an exercise in frustration most of the time.

A speed limit has been placed on every road or street ... in every part of New Zealand. It is in NZ legislation.

But ...it is in no way ALWAYS safe to travel at that speed. Either due to weather (rain/wind/fog/frost etc) ... darkness ... traffic volume ... unsuitable vehicles for that speed ... tailgating ... and (too often) just lack of realistic driving experience and skills at those/any speeds. Add in the possible booze/drugs scenario ... and the likelihood of problems on the road increases. I probably missed out a few other things ... but you are probably aware of these one's anyway. If you're not ... you might be part of the problem.

Drivers poor decision making even at whatever those (legal) speeds are ... often leaves a lot to be desired (Understatement .. ??). I have no doubt that YOU might have crossed paths with a few doing the above (on those same roads I have ) and (at the time) they may have even caused you a little "[I]Unhappiness". If you haven't ... I might understand your comment.

The only effective/realistic (and legal) method of reducing the effects of the above ... is enforcing the speed limit. Thus an attempt to reduce the damage ... not remove it as such.

Unless you can suggest (and get implemented) an alternative (not to mention EFFECTIVE) course of control for the above "Problems" ... the current control measures will be taken. I personally can't see any change of such happening anytime soon.

As I've pointed out once on KB before, speed is a measurement of distance over time. For you to be in that exact spot to be hit head on etc you'd need to have been doing whatever speed whether high or low to be in that exact place. Call it fate or whatever but I'm resigned to the fact that one day someone may cut a corner in front of me and I'll be toast.
It is what it is and hopefully my reactions are fast enough

I turned up at my licence with no warrant.

I'd bought a GSX250 as my first legal bike, well, roadbike, 1st was an XR250 with no sidestand and I didn't fancy leaning it up against Pierce house on the footpath, no indicators mirrors or much of a muffler.

new caliper kits
new master kit
eased and greased all pivots and mechanics related to the caliper
new fluid...
BUT still with front wheel of the ground it spins pull the brakes on and it stops spinning, do this several times and the wheel binds up more and more... to the point where I have to crack the bleed nipple to release the pressure... WHATS with this its got me buggered???

I've heard of this situation caused by a flap of rubber inside the brake hose acting like a one-way-valve - let fluid go to the caliper but not return. A long shot.

My guess is that there's not enough clearance between lever and master cylinder pushrod - or the return spring inside the master cylinder isn't moving the piston back far enough to uncover the return port. Or something like that.

But you've probably fixed it by now, fuckin' time waster!!!:bleh:

You make it clear to he doctor that of it’s not up to grade you WILL be contacting them at the time of need...

2nd round of oral surgery few years ago I was prescribed some slow release 800mg codiene/ibo tabs.... turned out he did such a tidy job that along with a high pain tolerance I never needed them once they anexthetic wore off. Ended up in the bin recently when I realised how far out of date expired they were now.

Some years ago I had to ride my GSXR at xxx km/h at 2am to the duty 24hr pharmacy in central Auckland’s for codiene tabs when had the good ol wisdom tooth decay.... I got what I needed but expect wearing a helmet bashing on window while pointing at your jaw these days would only result in Ann AOS callout and permanent pain relief.

Yes indeed I've held one and oddball iron and combustion chamber insert with head cover.

RS50 AM6 is iron. Oddly the preceding AM5 isn't. Blame motominarrelli or whoever supplied engines to 1/2 the moped world.

Other way around. I think. TZR50 mk1 had Yamaha engine for sure, I used to use the rods, but moved to a Minarelli for next iteration. Not sure which one, must have been feeling left out, probably AM6. I suspect they 'passed' euro2(?) and no one else could. Even Derbi went to them when thier own engine was a peach.

Yeah Beta who made the engines for ktm 50 and 65's sx 2003-2008 and Husky 2009 on to ? used the minerelli engine in there own 50cc and i think 65 mx bikes

There's quite a lot of water in the river atm. By the time you've pulled the KDX out of a hole, recovered from trying to start the TT - and given youself a hernia moving the Lemans, it'll be Sunday and you'll be too fucked to make it up here.
