That's a pet pieve of mine: tiny roundabouts. Operating the indicators as required is pretty much impossible. It's easier just to drive straight over the ones that are only painted on the road.

Anyhoo. Rant is about my chev. I wanna put a couple turbos on it, but a 2 bolt main won't last if I do. Sweet I'll google up and see what I've got....NOPE. ID numbers ending 010 are four bolt...maybe. Only way to actually know is to take the sump off.

They're just trying to piss me off aren't they. But really I don't get it...conceptually, how is going straight through a roundabout a right turn in any way, shape or form?? Bollocks.

After admitting fault at the scene in front of an independent witness they then decided later to take to court.

Anyhow doing research to help out the affected family member came across an article mentioning what pritch day says above. The ltsa agrees that many of our small roundabouts its impractical to signal in required time and drivers should not solely rely on indicators to work out someone’s intentions.
One interesting thing I found was that you MUST indicate right if travelling more than halfway (physically think of clock face) around the roundabout. So at many of the suburban ones where you have only two exits instead of three and the second exit is say at your one o clock you must indicate right. This is prob where bad habit comes from of people indicating right when going straight at a three exit hobby.....

I went to my GP about 4 weeks back for a full prescription renewal. Fine got the usual stuff, you don't want to know, you'll all be there soon enough...

BUT...I was having a little pain from the neck dissection op site - so asked for some Codeine. Got a script for a small quantity. Included with the 90 day script for the rest...

About a week later the op site goes from tolerable to not so much - and I start using the Codeine rapidly. Now onto the 3rd and final refill.

The surgical team at a followup say, you need more - and prescribe it. Fine.

BUT - I can't access that script until after the 90 day period of the GP's one expires - 1st week of bloody November.

I estimate I'll be without Codeine for around 6 weeks unless something can be done.
Seeing the GP tomorrow. If he can't fix it I'll ask for a substitute - the story of pensioners on Morphine on TV the other day was attractive. We'll see.

I'm assuming the pharmacist is going by the rules. Possibly the GP's fault for including it with the 90 day med schedule. He should have known better IMO.

My first question was what did the doctor say? Nuffin, dad is on a waiting list for the doctor to call him, not a visit, a phone call. 6 weeks wait for a conversation he will struggle to hear. :blink:

In ChCh hospital today for another attempt at a biopsy - the first attempt was called off when they'd sent all the staff home first morning of lockdown. After we'd travelled 80km to get there on time....
Second attempt was finally aborted after 3 hours of indecision as I haven't shaken a head cold. Ooooooh Covid !! I know who gave it to me and when - and he's tested negative. i pointed out that with my underlying conditions, if i'd had Covid, I'd have been in ICU for at least a week by now - which they agreed with.
But no. So, again, the wife was halfway home and had to turn around again....Second 160km plus return trip for no result.

So I'm now going to go to Ashvegas drive in testing center - it's closest - for a test, To access medical treatment i should have had over a week ago.

I have to prove a negative to get treatment. Funny times we live in.

Basically they had been trapped by her neighbour a few times who had said if they come back again they'll not be returned.

Neighbour lives rural and has free range ducks and chickens they are trying to keep safe.

Almost every comment was some idiot going on about what a cunt the neighbour was and how they could be done for cruelty, call the SPCA, call the police blah blah blah.

The general public who had come into the street to see what was going on quickly retreated to a safe distance, home. They had the sense of forboding I did, I'm sure.
They openly filmed ( The Best and Biggest mobile phones money can buy, of course) all Police officers there, as well as any ordinary citizen appearing to interact with the Police, the scene, their prospects waving to them and yelling gang slogans.

Going back many generations, not just one or two. My great grandfather came from Ireland, from a dirt poor area and he arrived in NZ with virtually nothing other than a language (Gaelic) which wasn't much use. Rather than sitting around bemoaning the perfidious English that caused the situation in Ireland, he worked, provided for his family so they were better off, and so his kids had an advantage that he never had. Sorry, I came to this late. Comparing champions from different eras never actually produces anything of value but it does pass the time over a winter brew. As such it's a bit unseasonal but OK.

I believe Hayden knew his way around a flat track. Rossi used to train in a quarry on a dirt bike with tyres that had the knobs removed. Marquez trains on dirt as do other current riders.

Schwantz and Rainey etc were used to the 'light switch' power bands, the current crop have not experienced that. The best would adapt.

Sorry, I came to this late. Comparing champions from different eras never actually produces anything of value but it does pass the time over a winter brew. As such it's a bit unseasonal but OK.

I believe Hayden knew his way around a flat track. Rossi used to train in a quarry on a dirt bike with tyres that had the knobs removed. Marquez trains on dirt as do other current riders.

Schwantz and Rainey etc were used to the 'light switch' power bands, the current crop have not experienced that. The best would adapt.

So back on topic. Forced to do a four wheel road trip on Saturday to Chch and back. Pulled left somewhere after Timaru to let a bike past, then my daughter laughed at him. How much control do you have when your legs are straight out in front of you at something getting close to 90 degrees apart? And I mean straight out, no bend at the knee whatsoever. Got funnier when he started warming his tyres through Temuka, if it was not for the tin pot helmet I could have sworn I was following old #34. The only way it could have been topped off was if the old guy in the ute he was tailgating hit the picks and put him on the flatbed.

Not sure what kind of bike it was but it was the highlight of my 1,000km weekend.

Have a good story to tell... my in laws have an elderly friend in his 90s who comes to visit in his car but he didnt come this week. He rang to explain...he visited a friend in vinegar hill rd and, as usual, left his keys in the ignition. It was parked in their driveway. And yep, he came out and it was gone. They rang the cops, cancelled all his cards and he got a ride home.
Next day, the lady rang him to tell him the car had reappeared in the drive. So he went to pick it up and it had a bunch of paperwork on the passenger seat which was receipts for repairwork done and a new WOF. All up $800. Turns out some auto workshop was to pick up an identical car from 3 doors along and just assumed it was all go for them with keys etc!

That's why the big car channels like Mighty Car Mods, Hoonigan etc tend to not focus on the subscribers and use merch to fund the show.
I tend to not skip adverts on the smaller shows I really like to give them that revenue.
