As it is harder and harder to find WSB... Do you know of a good screen capture program that can capture at 25fps or more? I can then set up the computer to stream it live from iSky or Eurosport and capture it that way. (For next time)

Both files are flv. Wanpo do we need to convert from FLV to AVI/other or can you play directly from FLV file format? Am using the FlashGot plug-in for Firefox.

I'm in for Taupo track day and am leaving the van and trailer arrangements up to the lads and then they can tell me what I am doing. My trailer takes 3 bikes and I am happy to put it on my car or someone elses.
I'm strating in group 4 (slow) and will try and move up if I feel I have a hold on the track :wari:

Only thing is I will need a hand to get my bike on the trailer, and the trailer parked up back in the carport :o

Apologies for posting in the wrong thread, but I had a hard time finding any dedicatd hornet threads

My front fender which I bought from a wreckers shop is showing a few cracks after few months of riding. Going over a speed bump will break it into two! So havent been riding it recently :(

On a closer inspection, there were few other incipient cracks visible near the nuts and bolts. Is it because the forks are pulling it outwards? But it shouldn't be as they are aligned and the fender is from an another hornet 250.

I heard epoxy resin could help? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hey Shanks, that does seem like some issue with the forks still ... usually they use plastic welding to get that sort of thing sorted (though alradite could possibly sort it). Bugger, that was a brand new fender wasn't it?

It's not too hard to do a decent job plastic welding yourself, with just a soldering iron, some putty to smooth things over, sandpaper, either way it'd require a repaint though.

Any good panel beater/painter will do it, I had a crack in the rear fairing of my YZF 600 years ago, had it thermo welded locally, couldn't see it at all...sold it a year in mint condition.


How tight did you do up the bolts? :pinch:

Possibly too tight? There doesn't appear to be any rubber washer between the bolt head and plastic, I believe that to be the reason for the crack.

Have just been chatting about it with Nick from Red Baron. He doesn't expect to sell many as for $1500 more you can get a 2011 zx10r with all the same fruit. Yeah the thoughts about reliability and fuelling quality is what i'm thinking about. This calls for a trip to the pub tonight I think.

Na not getting it for all the panels, just the back and sides of the tank to give me some grip (can't get stomp grips yet) and to stop my leathers wearing through the clear coat. Think there is also a strip on the leading edge of the side fairings behind the front wheel. It all just helps minimise and delay paint damage, it will def end up with stone chips etc, but I try not to get them if I can! The guy that i'm getting the kit from will also be installing it, I was never good with duraseal.

Just as the weather finally gets better, my bike is out of action.

Battery died yesterday, had to rollstart to get to work. Dies as I roll in to work. Call the Bike Dr, he thinks its the regulator, takes the battery out, charges it, and comes back today with a new regulator, and fires it up to check everything with a multimeter.

turns out the regulator was so fucked it took out the stator with it. $300 in parts alone, and 15 days before it even lands in NZ.
FML!

On a brighter note, I think I saw Mikey riding down Carribean drive when I was out for a jog on Wednesday. Good looking bike man.

Haha yep keen as for fine weather Monday night rides. Or Tuesday night.. or Wednesday fuck it i'm keen any day after work, usually just go out by my loansome as I have no friends :weep:

Just so that I knew you boys and girls would be safe, I went and checked out the roads to Kaiaua yesterday... well actually I showed mum and dad the scenic route into Auckland... I am just oh so obliging! So roads are in good condition... but am accompanying mum and dad back to te kuiti, so may have to check them again this afternoon!
