Dear Trace, since you have been away for so long - you haven't heard of Wanpo's labour of love in translating a japanese animation about motorbikes ...

and to give you a taste of what it is ... check this real life version of it!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJap8whgZtY

Well where the hell is the translated version so i can understand what the hell is being said?!

Cool, glad you liked it. Did you pick up on many spelling/grammar mistakes?

Trace: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZeLuXkfqm8 that's the opening (the non-translated one) an avi is a video file.

When GW's finished watching it, I'll see how many grammar corrections he's made and do an encoding to integrate the subs into the video (I'm thinking classic yellow block font) Then I'll make a throwaway youtube account and post it up. (and chuck the whole file up on mediafire or something)

Oh yeah, ride report.

Showed up at the library and was flabbergasted to see Trace waiting there. Turns out she was half asleep and sleep-rode her way in. After a short wait nzmikey turns up with Charlotte (who is now fixed). We realise no one else will be joining us, so we decide to get right into it, skipping a dinner stop and heading north. Off the Northern at Greville, we headed down towards Paremoremo, stuck behind a cager most of the way. Up through the twisties and on to Peak Road/Old North. The upgraded +50 high beam was doing its job, but still points at the ground in the tight left handers.
Stopped at Kaukap for a yarn and Mikey's Smoko, the tavern keeper wondering if we were actually going in, or remain at the enterance scaring patrons away. We chose the latter.
Then cut across dairy flats (heading down and back my new favourite road, which I don't think I could have ridden much worse) down albany highway, splitting up by the shell. Trace almost looked ready to fall asleep on her bike, so we skipped evening pleasantries and headed home.

Hahahaha I wasn't that bad... was just happy to be riding! and I didn't hold you up any, i was just cruising behind ya, so hope you know by now not to worry about me! but yes by the end, with the straight stuff my energy levels were dying a little ;-)

and when i turned up and no-one else was there was wondering whether the ride had been cancelled or meet point changed - since I hadn't been on here to check! but really it was just cause you are all slackers! your loss... you missed out on taking the piss out of me and my gixer... which i was quite pleased about! :-P

Isn't that just because you can't see anything with your crappy headlights? You probably get more light from the bike behind you.

Also Trace, you gotta give me a heads-up when you're planning to grace us with your presence so we can double the usual number of Suzukis :woohoo: Never mind that I couldn't make it last night anyway...

That's funny ... we take the piss out of Trace ... Jeez girl, you sling it far and wide!

And I do recall ... how this ride was morphed into the current form ... since most riders couldn't handle the previous format of riding, riding ... and more riding! (something about empty tummies).

Just to make sure you get your comeuppance little miss suzuki britches, you can be ride leader when you next turn up! :devil2:

and comeuppance for what?! I made a comment he was riding differently, he explained he was being cautious due to thinking i was TEC and not behind him, and i wasn't saying it was a bad thing, i was happy to cruise last night due to being overly tired, and if you are going to make me lead i may as well just keep riding by myself, so sounds like there is no need point in me coming ever again :ar15: :dodge:

Hey i was out on Saturday & did 482km , not a bad effort on the lil Hornet up north & back , let me say tho wind DOES effect the poor wee thing , not so much the sideways more of the head wind , humming along at 120 & get hit with a head wind & it feels like someone was leaning on my rear break . I cranked more throttle on ( all the way round ) ...... nothing revs were still dropping , so dropped down to 4th & wound up again it was all good :woohoo:

TLDR; I was out on the weekend in the rain & wind up north :innocent:

Starring:

Hmmm, I think Team Muppet Swarm might be more apt :p

Although more seriously, if you guys actually do go for the new Hyosung series, I dare say you'll have plenty of supporters from your mates here on KB.
I'd be there, but only if Wanpo promises NOT to dress up as the brollie girl.

Still to add front fairings, chain and sprockets, tyres, new oil and filter, braided brake lines, and get suspension redone.

You guys can always swing by work and check on my progress :)

Did you put nitrogen into the tyres and special headlight fluid? What about the power band? Did you upgrade it to the red one?

Also, you could put nitrous into a V-can on the side and have you also put race tape on it? Painted it red to make it go fasterer?

Drilled holes into the swing arm to help reduce weight yet?

What about putting lock wire onto all the hollowed out titanium bolts you should be using?

GPS and camera set up for the Moto GP look? Applied for the number 69 for your race number?

Jeez! You gotta get cracking lad!

This is a production class - red power bands are strictly illegal. Headlight fluid and tail light fluid will be missed seeing that the bike hasn't got neither, but good thinking.

I think I should be able to get through screwteneering with the ram air intakes on the frame though - good thinking there Gale_Wolf

I hope you mean Iridium. If not even the red class powerband is legal in that class, there's no way a fission powered bike would pass scrutineering, unless if you blew on it until it was no longer thermonuclear.

Well he isn't using the plasma cell battery since we will be using a winch powered roller to kick the engine up!

Will also need to reconfigure the throttle cams so it can go from "idling" to "moar powa"

Also he will need to put roller ball bearings on his knee pads to help go around the corners fasterer!

Actually, you're told that pretty much won't work, and it's easiest to ring for one... I was deliberately walking that, as it "wasn't that far"

The Hotel does have a taxi outside all the time, for guests that want one, which is very handy.

Yeah, kids'll do that to you. I'd never been so sick so often in a single year as when my first little treasure started at daycare. Any place kids gather is a breeding ground for all manner of nasty illnesses.

And here I was thinking that it was only me who was experiencing this... our little boy started in day care and until then rarely any sick days or time off work.... this past year has been the complete opposite....

Weather is looking good for tonight, I am not sick (for once), and my wifey does not have any plans, so it is looking likely that I can finally join y'all on a ride tonite. See ya.

Caught the musical "Mary Poppins" and went to Sydney Opera house for a choir event. Plenty of shopping, went to the largest motorcycle accessories store, visited plenty of cool games and comic stores, more shopping, lots of walking and riding on the monorail.

Felt sad for the motorbikes that have to live in that urban jungle. Chicken strips are a mile wide on their tyres!

Really, really, really missed my motorbike! :weep:

A very quiet swarm tonight, just Wanpo and baffa turned up - was good to meet you Matt (another Matt!) even though it was just for an intro!

Wanpo and my girly and I headed off to Kiraku for noodles and gyoza - being filthy biker scum, we rode between parking cones and right up to the door in Elliot street! :devil2:

From there, we did Whitford to my brother's place (had to give a dog some ear drops) and then I dropped my girl off home. Leaving Wanpo and I to do the damage.

We did the backblocks in Mercer and out to Te Kauwhata in the back way (ooer!) stopped there to warm up chilly bits and I checked how my rear really, really needs to be replaced ASAP! :o

From there, boring ride back to Denny's in Manukau and for a feed of hot chocolate fudge cake in honour of Gremlin (who always orders it).

Turned up to find Wanpo and Gale wolf arguing over who has the better squid machine. After a bit of bike related dribble we decided we weren't hungry enough to justify eating before the ride. Wanpo suggested we explore some of the north-western territory and we set off for Shelly Beach.
Met The Interceptor on the way and off we rode into the darkness - the four amigos. :ride:

Took the usual long way to Hellensville and then off to shelly beach. Nice ride, no surprises, and roads were predominantly dry. At shelly beach we wondered on the fishing bridge (name ?) and numerous bike related experiences were shared. We also stumbled upon a UFO (Unidentified Floating Object), surrounded by a few cool lights. Soon we realized that the people on the boat/barge were standing on the deck looking at us, looking at them. Funny that.

Made our way through some other back roads and ended up in a cool little asian food place in Albany. The Interceptor appeared to be the hungriest of the bunch ordering up half of the restaurant, Gale wolf settling for some noodle soup, Wanpo for some Pig on ride and I had the chicken on rice. Was nice to see the portions were a good size too. Ended up discussing everything from MotoGP to how stuck up the french canadiand are. No, it's not what you're all thinking - my pillion girl has decided being wet and chilly at night is not for her at this moment (she got that yesterday when we rode to Waipu via SH16!)

So, just me - bring wets and grab a snack beforehand, let's go find some nice roads and ride them! :woohoo:

Just to reiterate - no eats at the beginning, just pure riding! :msn-wink:

They stared at me. I asked them for Concrete pills, they looked at me funny, and gave me my usual order of a large flat white. Think I'm good to go now =D

Good ride last night, plenty of riding :woohoo: Wanpo and I chose to not don wet suits and were well rewarded. Just a small amount of liquid fun at the lookout (Baffa and I were in the front and just rode on ... apparently, Wanpo made a show of noise, but no one was there to appreciate it!)

Quite amusing with all the technical hitches, stopped in Kaukapakaka to adjust Sharry's headlight (too low), then me with the main bulb blowing and relying on my high beam to get to Wellsford. TOTO had a spare bulb, which didn't work either! Ended up purchasing a spare from the Caltex and that worked right as rain.

Whilst this occured, most had a quick munch on maccas - before TOTO took the lead back to Albany for a late feed and drink. Wanpo and I had swapped bikes, I took his CBR1000R (pirate arrs) as TEC and he jumped on my Predator. Compared notes and aches and pains at the end!

Good work boys and girls, lets hope for more riding like this!

Was good fun riding around on Cammy's little brother (sister?) for something a little different. But I'd be lying if I didn't say I really enjoyed getting back on the 'blade at the end of the night.

Also a slight technical hitch for Toto at the start of the return journey where his left spotlight was hanging loose. Essential toolkit items (duct tape and pocket knife) sorted that out soon enough. Always a good idea to have duct tape, cable ties, and a pocket knife handy.

Also, for this to happen, going to need a some spare gear, helmet and jacket at minimum, so does anyone have any spares? I only have spare gloves for her
