I'll have to remember to put in a cup the next time she comes along. With how often she does actually turn up at least I have a while, she's already been on her swarm ride for the year.

So you've swapped the foot in the mouth for a shovel, and now the shovel for an excavator ... go you!
Next trick? She stay barefoot, pregnant and chained to the kitchen stove?

I'm surprised they even let her buy the bike, what with being a woman and all.
Which reminds me

Because she is a woman
I figure if you're already in trouble, you might as well run with it.

Well my weekend was a bit of a non-weekend, helping a mate to move house on Saturday, the predator in for its 24000km service ... and my girl was knackered from working too hard. Sunday not much more improvement, more helping out with cleaning the house from previous day!
So tonight, my girl has said no riding for me! :weep: :violin: She wants to rest ... with me keeping her company!

I cruised down to check out the bike trackday scene, and just chilled out in the pits watching the "racing". Looked like a lot of fun, there wasnt much in it between Toto and Wanpo, I had to lol pretty much everytime Toto rolled into the pits he brought a tiny bit of grass with him. Think I'd prefer a twisty track with my little put put, but defo keen to have a go.

Not a lot of wobbles, they're really solid (being a big bike with not a lot of power) I did notice the front getting a little loose through Jennian Homes a couple of times though.

Just did my good deed for the day. Was out for a ride thru the coatsville highway and saw a dude pulled over fixing his bike. Pulled up and found out he was loosening his chain. He had tried tightening it earlier and made it wickedly tight. With a bit of mucking around we figured out how to sort it out and checked over his bike. It was a late model 250 ninja and I spotted a bald as hell rear tyre and he had never lubed the chain, so gave him a run down on bike basic maintenance. He'd never lubed it or checked tyre pressure! Scary stuff. He was a young guy but just asking for an accident. By this time my battery was flat from leaving the headlight on to see what we were doing, so after a push start I followed him back to civilization to make sure he was ok and told him to take it to a bike shop ASAP to check it over and replace the tyre. It was literally bald in the middle with the biggest chIcken strips I've ever seen haha. Scares me that people are out there with tyres like that

Speaking of which, I finally got that last patch of chicken strips off the tyre wall of my race hyosung, right after getting my knee and peg scraping (but before my hip, shoulder, back, clutch lever, gear shift, clipon and fairings)

Just went to see a physio about my shoulder; should come right, just stirred up an old injury that I've got a few exercises to sort out, and possibly a torn pectorial muscle.
He did mention I still have the imprint of the inside of my backprotector still patterned on my back

Some nice rodes were ridden, some yummy food was consumed and plenty of motorsykle stories told. Nice night to test the weather deflecting capabilities of the DL too :)
Will be doing a few more afternoon rides on the shiney toy and also as a training for the grand challenge, so if someone is keen to go riding after 6pm next few days, come keep me company :)

Had heaps of fun, I qualified in 13th (but slid out on the hairpin in the last qualifying lap, so I lost heaps of confidence) They redid the qualifying so that our placing in the first Pro Lites race was our starting position (Requalified in 17th.)
Not sure where I came for the middle two races (4 on the day.) But we missed the start for one of them and had to enter from pit lane and chase from the tail. The last race was the LeMans start, I started in 17th, and finished in 13th. Gained heaps of places in the start

Just over 3k for me. to be fair I already had, leathers, boots, gloves, helmets , van etc... but if you are a regular track day goer or a regular road rider even you have those items anyway.
3k for the bike and all the fees. Cheap racing really.

I dont know who was more excited, me or him. We went for a little ride, and I had a little play. Fantastic bike. For it's size, it feels deceptively nimble, and ignoring the fact I'm not used to hunching over on a sportsbike, it was really comfortable. Slightly jealous. Buggers are probably still off riding. We headed out east, found a restaurant GiJoe wanted to take us to, but they seemed unable to take our order correctly, then we gave up on some of the items... Kathy was onto them however, awesome at sorting them out.
From there, she was keen to try out the BMW's pillion seat, and I was keen to lure Mr GiJoe to the dark (or is that blue) side. Verdict came back clear and ringing as we headed out through Maraetai and on to Clevedon. She liked, but the BMW may be far in the future (or maybe that's what he thinks). Wanpo and Toto were invited to sample the persuasive powers of Jessica, not surprisingly jumping at the chance.
Toto headed out, and when in the country, an oncoming car flashed him, presumably to tell him not to be on high beam. When Toto flashed him back (to show that he actually wasn't on high), the car swerved a couple of times (probably wondering what UFO it was) and Toto came back simply declaring he wanted that light setup. If I was their salesman, I reckoned I could have sold several sets this evening.
Unfortunately, work was beckoning, so they've carried on, and I've settled into work which will probably take all night.

I can see why people would want something like that, but it reinforced that it's not for me. The handshields + screens a plenty kept me plenty warm (I didn't close my visor the entire time I was riding it.) And the lights were very handy.
On that note, where did you get the HID bulb? And how are they in comparison to the uprated standard types?
Also I'm surprised she didn't break as soon as I headed off down the road, considering how much she seems to dislike me.

HID from Xenonrider.com, good quality HID. Brighter than the uprated bulbs, with a much longer more reliable life, but much whiter (and I didn't go for the very white bulb as it produces less actual output). Some don't like the way it lights up the road, preferring conventional bulbs.

Then the popo with the fruit salad on was another introduction to how this night was going to pan out! When Gremlin left, we did the ride out to Kaiaua, seems there were some moments - the coastal road to Kaiaua featuring predominantly! Good thing I stopped at the toilets there so some riders could get some relief!
Ride back was pretty good, made sure there were plenty of downhill lefthanders for Wanpo! :msn-wink:

I never said I'd ride every day! i said i had four months holiday and there will be plenty of riding in that time - i do do other things other than ride!

How was the ride guys?
Was planning to do the coro loop on sat, but K2 was on, so went riding via old northroad/sh16 through to kaiwaka and off to maungawhai, then upto Waipu for a bit, then back.
Decided that 300k wasnt enough, and took the gf to parakai via a similair route for dinner.
Also finally got round to fully cleaning the chain. Pulled off the front sprocket/chain cover, and there was soo much gunk hidden behind it. Half a can of degreaser and several rags and a toothbrush later, and the bike is finally fit to be seen in public again.

Good turn out last night! Daikoku for noodles saw us pick up a lost Viffer who got there before us! :msn-wink:
Did the St Heliers GP with the Dingle Dell reserve ride, going off up to Mt Eden. The weather looked like it was going to close in, but kept dry all the way to Momotea in Highbury.
At this point, it all went to custard as usual - since several people had to turn into pumpkins and as we all split off, it turns out that half of us went a different way to the North shore! Only Baffa and I were in one group! Eventually the others all turned up to the right place.
Since it was Halloween, the waitresses were dressed in french maid outfits and watching TOTO and Wanpo do the swivel-head pervy look around!
My girl, Kathy, managed to take some good pictures and will post up when I get around to it! The trip home saw the heavens deluge upon us after we got to Ellerslie, the rain let up when we got past Otahuhu.
Apologies to the poor little cibby that my Cindi brushed past, I think it was just a case of bitchiness! :innocent: (I think I was channelling the spirit of Gremlin that evening! :o )

"...excuse me, but are you all Hell's Angels?"
TOTO
8th November 2011, 20:35
I turn up to swarm meeting point at about 6:28 after working a bit late and everyone is eager to go. Attending were the usual suspects - GSXR_Trace, Wanpo, baffa, Gale_Wolf and his cousin. A few Txts were sent and arranged with NzMikey to meet us at shell westgate as we were heading north to Waipu with GSXR_Trace as ride captain. I took TEC and off we went. :ride:
Causing a small disturbance trough with all pedestrian things alike in CBD off we went. Collected NzMikey from westgate, topped up with petrol, exchanged a few funny stories on the go and off we were towards Waipu for a pizza. Taking Old North road and peak road, and onto SH16. As it happened we were riding through SH16 and bandit country exactly as the sun was setting and every single corner revealed a wallpaper type scenery in front of us. It was magic to see 7 bikes all move in sync with the landscape and being in the scenery themselves. Would have been a great opportunity for an experienced photographer to capture with a still camera shots if there was one around.
Wanpo was excersising his mental and physical strategy for the upcoming hyobag racing this weekend and could be seen taking perfect lines with bum cheek off the seat and head on either side of the handlebars resembling the look of MotoGp greats such as Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Super Sic. Poetry in motion. Gale_Wolf and myself were behind Marco…errrr, I mean Wanpo, and enjoyed taking the nice leisurely pace while at the same time observing the good lines. :niceone:
Ride captain GSXR_Trace stopped took the opportunity to saveour the moment by stopping at the Wellsford lookout. We appreciated the marvelous view while Gale_Wolf used the opportunity to slip into something more comfourtable – some wet weather gear seeing that he was wearing summer mesh uniform and was getting a bit chilly. I followed his example and put on a jumper while enjoying the view. Somehow the awesome sunset was poking between stunning rain clouds and torrential rain could be seen falling in the valleys around us and yet where we were was pretty dry and so was the road. Riding between the clouds trick we seem to have picked from GiJoe. We also stopped at Wellsford for NzMikey to fill up as he purpousfully did not fill up in shell westgate – reason being that he has a small tank. A few more jokes about this and that, Wanpo moaning that his hands were getting cold as he has blown his hot grips fuse. From his words it happens every time he goes over 104km/h. :nya:
With NzMikey all fueled up we all lined up ready for the ride to Waipu and The Pizza. GSXR_Trace seemed to be a little hesitant to take point at first but since we respect the ride captain on our rides our fate was left in her hands and she took the lead again. I stayed TEC wondering if she is going to take the lazy way, the fun way or the real fun way. Turned out that she had actually done the very same ride a few days prior so she was super happy to opt for the most fun way. Now due to Wanpo being so focused in keeping perfect lines and great body position he did not put enough emphasis on actually keeping the other riders in sight (something that might be valuable to him in the upcoming weekend of racing) and as it turned out he did not notice that the rider in front had turned left towards Mangawhai and waipu (and ofcourse he was not reading the signs). As he passed the first turn off, I was thinking “ ahem, he knows the more fun route too” and as we passed the second turn off my taught changed to “It will be fun to see where he ends up”. So Gale_wolf and myself quietly followed (as you do on 900cc and 1000cc bikes with 160db loud exhausts). A few corners later and Wanpo’s internal GPS did not make him question the scenery and the fact we were going south east as opposed north. Gale_Wolf and I followed for 5 minutes and I was cracking up in my helmet thinking of the moment when the realization hits Wanpo. It didn’t – talk about spoiled dreams. :weep: I proceeded to do a few flashes at Gale_Wolf and Wanpo, advised of wrong route being taken and proceeded to lead out to the road leading to Mangwhai and meet the others and they were possibly worried that a tiger ate us or something. Got on the Magawhai road, flicked a TXT to Trace so she knows what’s happening and off we went on to Mangawhai where the other four were waiting for us. NzMikey greeted us by dancing in the middle of the road. From the pictures I’ve seen of him at the fat bikers TT run I was super happy he wasn’t naked and wearing a mankini (Trace would have liked it though).
So with all of us reunited Trace took point again towards Waipu, some nice corners out that way with some of the best bits unfortunately being covered in gravel for 1 km but that ok as that road does need the repair. Arriving at Waipu it is surpricingly quet – even for a Monday. Turns out that Monday and Tuesday are weekend recovery days for the population of waipu and even the infamous Pizza Barn is closed. Comments were made that probably it wouldn’t be a crime if we entered the building made out own pizzas and ate them, but the idea was quickly dismissed as none of us felt like cooking at that time. Someone mentioned 1metre long pizzas at Whangarei but due to some of the riders having family commitments was dismissed also. In the end it was decided to get back to Albany and have some nice noodles at the noodle place (name?).
Wanpo took point and lead to Wellsford and Albany noodle place. GSXR_Trace , Gale_Wolf decided to ride together close to each other so that their Gixers could talk to each other and even engaged in a few Gixer games that normal riders do not understand.
Coming onto Albany hill Wanpo took a nice detour through ridge road before arriving at the noodle place at 11:40 which apparently closed at 12:00. The lady in charge of the place was very pleased to see us and even commented on the fact that time we brought a girl with us. The look on her face was priceless. Probably coz she knows we all like Hondas :killingme
Funny stories were told all around, while speed ordering and speed eating as time was running out and the shop was closing soon. At 12:20 we were all done and just about to leave when the Chinese lady owner asked us all if we are Hells Angels. Huge laughs erupted :killingme She was promptly educated that Hells Angels are bad criminal people that deal with drugs and other bad things and we were “the good guys”. It certainly put the cherry on the cake. Everyone split home and lived happily ever after. :scooter:

They're probably fine for a VTR250, but I wouldn't go there for my CBR1000 (Except maybe if I requested Bungy, as he used to have one). Another name to bear in mind is George (The Motorcycle Doctor) a lot of people swear by him and the convenience of him coming to you is great.
I go to Cyclespot, since Hondas is what they know, prices are fair and the people (downstairs) are trustworthy. If I was more out that way, I'd probably go to Botany Honda, as I've heard nothing but good about them.

Cheers for the suggestions, spoke to The bike Dr, pretty reasonable rates, and coming to my door kinda sold me. Half the reason I'm willing to pay expensive rates for servicing is just to have that history with the bike, and a repoire with the mechanic. I had a workshop I took most of my Zs to that all knew me by name, and looked after me (probably because the money spent on my fking cars put all their kids through school).

I'd be keen but as usual got other stuff I have to do. More so because I've got a leave pass for Pukekohe.

I'll be riding some roads down south ways (the general gijoe1313 shortish pootle type route) on Saturday. Will be a generous 10.00am start  and be back before 4.30pm.
If yer keen, let me know!
Slacker... I'll be in Wellington by 7am, by 10am I will probably be around Waipukurau. So if those that are heading towards New Plymouth are out that way late arvo, I'll be going through the forgotten highway, then heading south again to Wellington :devil2:

He really is sick. I called him to go for a ride yesterday and he refused due to being sick.

Yeah I know, it's just a wind up. He was pretty crook on Wednesday.
So he'd better be well rested for Sunday otherwise gijoe will have to race his hyo to clock up some more points for him!

Bro's got my back. Reminds me of the joke:
If a guy rings 5 of his girlfriend's friends wondering where she was last night, they'll all say she stayed at another friend's place for the night.
If a girl rings 5 of her boyfriend's mates, all of them will say he stayed the night at their place and two will say he's still there.

I'll set my alarm for the morning, but if I'm feeling like shit I'm gonna give it a skip. It's not worth it if I'm gonna be feeling like crap come race day.

He is doing the wellington 1000k ride.
Its a shame, I would have felt more secure at the racing tomorrow if he were there to wave at me :wavey:

I think racing starts around 10. Wanpo, Toto, and GIJoe will be there about 7-7.30. I'm planning to get there about 8. Might see you there.

Argh! I can't join you guys tonight - have just been reminded by my wifey that I was told 2 weeks ago that she'd be out this evening. Weather looks great too... sigh :-(
Am glad I got to at least ride out to Pukekohe yesterday to watch some of the racing.
Have a good ride tonight folks!

Very cruisey ride yesterday :scooter:, nice food at Clevedon and Zombie Apocalypse talk - usual suspicious issues with Wanpo and his chapstick! Nice to see Sharry again after such a long hiatus!
Drinkies at Momotea lead me to talk the back way home and I was safely back in bed just before 11pm (much to the sleepy delight of my dear girl Kathy! :baby:)
Thanks for waiting for me guys, was wondering if I was going to turn up to an empty bike park :sweatdrop

How do you tell someone has an iPhone?
Don't worry, they'll tell you.

Meh it's conveniently supplied by work but I wouldn't choose to buy an Apple product.
Massively over-hyped, over-rated, over-priced, and deliberately hamstrung by Apple.
Was merely explaining why the photos are crappy, they were taken on an iphone.
Of course the other reason they're so crappy is that dude with the 85 on his bike :bleh:
