So much for the riding plan! Still way too much to do in the assimilation of house production :pinch:

Big ups to gale_wolf for putting in some elbow grease to get the heavy stuff and small guff packed, racked and stacked! :niceone:

Sweet, we're on for the Final round of (at least the) MotoGP Tomorrow night. Haven't tracked down the Moto2/3 yet, but if I do in time, they're on the menu too.

Also Suzy's being fixed as we speak, so if things go well, I'll be keen to go out for more rides.

Add Moto3 to that, still haven't sourced the Moto2

Excellent! Try this link for Moto2:

https://rapidshare.com/#!download|975p3|776740119|Moto2_2012_-_GP18_-_Valence_Espagne_11-11-2012__Fr__Par_Xor_SD.avi|728426|0|0

In case that doesn't work I found the links here (just to say that it looks to be in French though):

http://www.emoto.com/forums/piste.php?tid=1566453 followed the captcha and selected RapidShare

Should finally be able to make it this Wed night.

Easy Rider on a budget with Suzuki's zippy commuter

yes well... when I informed my mother and father of that plan, I was prohibited from doing such... they know me too well and know that when I am stressed with work (as i am at the moment because I have my thesis findings presentation on friday) I every now and then like to take off on the bike for a break... and they helped with doing that at the weekend :innocent: I'm totally innocent!

Yes Trace, when gale_wolf was helping me with the moving of stuff we were chatting about the incomprehensibility of you parking your bike up during the mint riding seasons!

I thought you had gone mad (well, more mad than usual). Glad to hear that you are able to clear the cobwebs and enjoy some riding now and then.

Worst excuse ever.
Order it online, and if you get pulled over explain you have valid rego, you are just waiting for it in the mail. They will check, see that it's the case, and wish you a safe journey.

Nothing, but with everyone else trying new toys I've got that new bike itch; and was wondering if it's worth $10k+ to get the latest and greatest.

So... what's the ZX10 like?

I liked the power settings on it, whereas the Gixxer's ones just made me go "screw anything but the A setting" they made for a real smooth power delivery and perfect for the streets. The one I rode had a fancy programmable ohlins suspension in it which apparently changes settings according to the throttle position, lean angle etc etc. Felt very planted through corners (even those dodgy uphill ones just past Paremoremo).

Obviously I didn't thrash it, but I saw during a motorway on ramp that the tacho changes to a red colour (from yellowish) around 8k rpm, must represent hitting the red powerband, because phwaa. The ABS was kinda strange (only tested the rear briefly) feels a little clunky and you get an upward pressure through the brake pedal. Didn't ride anywhere near hard enough to test out the traction control.

More comfortable and less aggressive than the '08 ZX10 I went out on and I love the styling, definitely more bike than my blade, but I don't think I can justify it to myself being $12k+ more than Cammy.

Me? no. Much too aggressive riding position for everyday riding. Would be awesome as a trackbike, but too expensive for my tastes to be thrown around the track.

Well finally got resurrected by MadBikeBoy and now look at me, after a year virtually with no riding and then getting back onto two wheels slowly - it's been a joy to get out and about to some old haunts.

The ride out to Port Waikato was more a short re-education ride about cornering and positioning! PrincessBandit tucked in behind and we merrily weaved our way to the dairy for pie, coke and a rocky road (for me).

Nice day, glad I wore the chest and back armour since there were a lot of bees/insects impacting my helmet and chest! Had a nice chat with a fellow Predator owner who ambled over from his ute and we parleyed about things Predator.

All in all, a cruisey ride back home and I get to bask in the nice feeling that just getting out into the country away from the maddening crowds on a bike brings.

This biking thing is pretty cool ... :msn-wink:
