- Musicman entertaining us with things like saying "Speaking of humping in the car..." or showing off his anime porn stach of magazines at MeowMeow tea bar and trying to sudduce the waitresses.:spanking:

Hey what, I didn't do those things!! Well... not the last two, anyway, haha.

Does anyone know why that guy in the van on Queen street was waving a rubber cock at us trough the window

Oh is THAT what it was?!

How could you live without a bike! Just get someone else to bring up the stuff, or just post it up. :niceone:

exactly... luckily enough my sister in laws sister came down from auckland for new year... and they are taking my bag of stuff back up for me! yay.... bringing my bike back!!!!

willing to do a naki trip and carry one of your backpacks on my back, back to auckland if it will mean you get to bring your bike up.

what we been up to -

1. GiJoes pootles are still massive :niceone:

2. banzai sod the GN...

3. Rie is converted pootler

4. I just had chain replaced on baby hornet and I got 27 days till my full...

5. EJ is moving to Chchurch

6. banzai is going to ausie

7. MBB is flirting with bus drivers

8. Gremlin flirts with farmers at 3am

9. more swarmers have expressed interest in pootling

10. WE MISS YOU TRACE

Good work guys, sounds like fun although 5 and 6 means we are loosing members of aimless meanderers! and 7 and 8 are just a little random! and 10, well you must be loosing it!

Well well GSXR Trace, she lives! She breathes! Shes ... caging it? :slap: :thud: Anyway, rie has overtaken you now ... she's pootling around with carefree abandon is our little korean mafia princess!

Yes I am still in the world of the living, and have hardly caged it although have been home..... whats the crap about me being overtaken!!! bring it on! But glad to hear Rie has been getting in lots of good riding!

27th I decided to wash my gorgeous bike, and after having done that i decided it just wasn't enough, so headed over mount messenger, through the gorge, in to Taumaranui then through the forgotten highway!!! was a nice day, and ended it by re-cleaning my bike (due to the 12.6km of gravel on the highway)

Then again today I took off up to Te Kuiti, and then out towards Bennydale, through back roads through Ohura and then onto the forgotten highway again and through to home... and washed my bike when i got home! Aren't I a good girl! haha

Other than that, its just been a few rides round the coast to Opunake etc... and to work (and definitely developed the art of the long way home!)

Enjoy your weekend boys and girls and will see ya soon no doubt, im heading back up either tomorrow (friday) or saturday, so may see you monday night, or next weekend at the latest!

well nothing beats starting the new year with a nice ride.

Woke up in the morning (possible only for us non drinkers), send congrats happy new year txts to everyone and invites for a ride and off I go leaving the house 9:30 am. :)

Did the norh shore albany hill twisties around prison road, and ridge road - marvelous. 10:30am - Check my phone no txts - eveyone still asleep.

off up on SH16 - no smurfs, no cars - all the road for my self and a blondee in a BMW blowing me air kisses

Got to wellsford 11:30 check phone - still no takers for a ride. Then look over shoulder and blondee from BMW is heading my way. turns ot two wheeled motrbikes turn blonies in BMWs on. No second helmet today but got a rain chech to take her for a ride

On I go to Mangawahi, waipu Cove and Waipu where having a refreshing drink was mendatory. As it happened the annual Heighlender games were big strong men carry humongous rocks and cut trumedeous (SP?) logs were having a competition. wow.

On I go up north to Mangakaramea and exploring the roads that me and and anothe rrider had a slip up last week to make sure I face my fears and learn from me mistakes. The white princess was happy getting me trough there and keeping itself rubber side down that time trough that trecherous road. (note to self - do not get the 250 northland loop trough there) it is by now 1:30 pm and I get a txt from Trump Lady that she is keen for a swim somewhere. After a few txts we decided to meet up in wellsford and go to Kai Iwi lakes for a swim.

Down I go trough Paparoa rd - Heaven  lenny kravits singing in the ears, empty curvy road ahead - rider and bike became one and corners were flowing like honey from a spoon - absolut heaven :D

Meeting Trump lady at wellsford at 3:30. Fixing up Pinky's brake as it became loose from vibrations and off we go for a swim. Lond way round for a swim that is. went up to paparoa and back on heavenly road (Paparoa Rd). Trump Lady and I made our way to sh14 where we saw a major car crach which had happened only minutes before we passed. Lucky us. Also lucky lady to be able to walk away from a car which by the looks of it flipped and landed on its roof.

Ariving at Dargaville at about 6pm we establish that neither me or Trum Lady have had any food so we made our way to Subway and picked up a few sandwiches to eat at the lakes.

7:00pm we arrive at kai iwi lakes hungry as wolfs. Eating two feet of garlic bread and smoked chicken tastiness saw us right. Was getting too cold for a swim so we decided not to this time but made cunning biker scum plans about swim rides this summer which will happen :soon:

Bach down we went trough boring but fast straight lined sh12 and on the way to wellsford we saw a gorgeous christmas decorated house like they do in the states. so we stopped and had an oooh and aaaah. The little girls whose grandfather had set up the whole decorations of the house came out and even gave us lolies while we enjoeys the beautifiul christmas lights their grandfather had put up.

On to wellsford and it is 9:30pm. petrol fill for toto and energy drink for trumpl lady and off we go to do sh16 in the dark. Absolute beauty - not a single car, and having both bikes on full beam all the way saw us right in the tight suff.

10:30pm - off we went onto kaukappakappa where out heavenly night pootle continued on to albany where we met some gorgeous smurf girls who tested us for alcohol, gave us pug smiles and imaginary kisses and off we went on motorway and home eventually.

Kms all up to 900 or threabouts. Oh we are so loving those twisty roads :D

more riding needed :niceone:

Well it was with some trepidation that I got the news about Daisy from Banzai (this on the day when my Big Ol'Hornet got tired and had to have a lie down in the sand! :pinch:)

I did repeatedly warn Banzai about Daisy's peculiarities. The attention he was giving her just meant she would keep mounting up the issues so she could continue to receive attention.

And lo and behold she did.

I had already encountered this issue with Daisy before and I had already learnt my lessons. Banzai just had to keep pushing those boundaries and see what happens!

Ah well, guess its more work on my To Do list when I get back from my SI pootling excursion (actually it seems less than I normally do in the NI!)

Sorry about the lil'ol'hornet not being available, but I've learnt that trouble always strikes again ... so I was shortcutting that process! (plus the difficulty of arranging it with my olds at such short notice)

Well that was a great afternoon and evening of biking indeed

Got home from work, pulled in the drive to see the flatmate finishing off a clean of the mighty ZZR. I helped him reassemble her, and she was all go for her first ride since some much needed TLC after acquisition.

So off we shot, through the old faithful roads around maraetai, clevedon, twilights, and back home. A couple of stops along the way to chase out little niggles, but it seems all is well. A few things needing more attention, but all in all she is coming right! :woohoo:
So we had time back at home to shove two pieces of toast in my face and remembered to grab my camel back (DAMN it was hot today...) and off we shoot for the swarm :wari:
Shot the breeze with Toto, and soon enough Mike and Trace arrived from a pootle northward, and Toto weeping of "Why wasnt i there? :weep:"

Mike shot for home, so onward we 4 charged... all the way to daikoku for noodles! ("You hungry?" "Yeah, you hungry?" "Yeah, i'm hungry, you hungry?" "Yeah, i could eat")
After tales of new twistie roads with blind crest speed hump and airborne hornets, we saddled up our mighty steeds. After threats of Trace attacking my tinsel'd up bike before the evening was out, we were on our way.
No takeoffs that i was aware of behind me, but i did get the front a little breathing room on one
Back down again and on to the St Helliers GP. A couple of rounds, and i piked to head for home. These early morning starts havent become routine again yet, and i absconded before Trace could follow through with her threats of grevious bodily harm toward my beloved hornet  i was thinkin it was time to take it off, but now i think i'll leave it on there just for you Trace :bleh:

Yea , how rude is that - the GSXRs going for a ride by themselfs and yet having the nerve to show up to a hornet swarm...:angry2:...they wanna ride more than us hornets - that means war.

I believe I have won the riding war already by needing a new set of tyres on the small hornet only 5 weeks after the previous ones have been put on  we pay for the fun we are having I guess.

Nice swarm tonight. Daikoku noodles have me addicted. Did the St. helliers Gp a few times and we got Tracey annoyed coz the poor girl had to keep doing U-turns. Aparently GSXRs dont like tight turns. Sad really considering how beautivul bikes they are but not so functional - sort of like a dolled up blonde on high heels which can not run the distance to the bus stop coz the heels will break, and ends up miissing the bus - looks good but not functional :oi-grr:

Pootling was a bit too short for my liking today, but at least got to conserve some rubber till I can get the white princess some new shoes.

cheers for fun night boys and Trace.

Hmm seems like Rie is having problem U-turning on GPX too. This must be common problems?

Also Daisy was very hard to U-turn coz her right clipons already bent badly when I got it. GN U-turn rocks!! :Punk:

I may go for a brazilian cocktail later tonight ...

A Brazilian cocktail?? The mind boggles...

So, GSXRTrace and I organised a little pootle - she lives near where I work, so we decided to go for a gentle ride before the swarm. I, being retarded, misplaced my wallet, so I stripped all the cash I could find ($32) when we dropped off at home. From there we meandered around the shore, finding all the roads that looked like spaghetti, avoiding the roadworks where we could.

From the Shore, we headed north, up Albany hill (MBB almost getting called a Squid for a solitary overtaking move up the left which turned out to be a bad idea), then left at Dairy Flat, on into Cow-Copper-Copper where we made use of the petroleum transfer process. The afternoon was hot, and the tar was slippery, so we used commonsense and caution, and kept our speeds close to the limit. Much more of this, and I'll need to hand across my man card and trade the Gixer for a Honda or Vespa... We saw loads of bikes coming towards us, mostly cruisers 2up with luggage. We got overtaken by a gent on a Buell, neat sounding bike.

Into Wellsford, obeying the speed limits, passing the first Police Oriface about 4 k out. Then into the Caltex for a Big Ben pie and some more fuel. We stood and chatted and ate, and scoped out a not so good looking ginga with two really hot chicks. His cousins perhaps?

So, by this stage, it was after 6, and we needed to get to the library to return some overdue books (Trace had Kung Fu for dummies, I had a Jackie Collins novel). So, given the importance of the destination, we went back via State Highway 1, so named because it's a single laned goat track.

Traffic was slow, which meant our life in the cannonball lane was easier. Turns out that GSXRTrace can ride, and she mixes skills with common sense - much better than the mix of luck and ignorance I ride with.

Madam kept to a modest 1*0 on the motorway. I mean, old people fuck faster than you ride on the motorway! :) If they didn't want us to ride fast, they would have put speed limits with some sort of policing in place... :crybaby:

We arrived at the Library to find a GPX, Badger8, Toto, and a blinding amount of tinsel. Offers of Daikoku were declined, I had less than a dollar on me, and scoot was just about out of deuce again... So, a very gentle pootle home to the batcave, with the fuel light brighter than the sun. Scoot was coughing as I rode to the servo this morning, so it was a close run thing.

in my defense... i was well breaking the speed limit, and yet was still being left for dust on the motorway... im a poor little girl and cannot afford tickets, let alone losing my licence!

but man i do keep an eye on my speedo... its far too easy to be cruising along getting into the ride and then glance down and "oh shit" .... off the throttle

was a nice afternoon ride! even if i was the speed control warden!

Well, there's an easy solution - break your speedo pick up like have, and hey presto, no more worries about keeping the speed limit.

Man, I was planning on going home, getting changed and heading north to the beach, no matter what time... its been bloody hot at work today and was going for a swim! I guess I can leave that till sunday

Yeah i know that syndrome. My old job i just threw a jacket gloves and helmet on, rode in my workboots and jeans. Was only 3km of 50k zones to work, so didnt feel so bad about it :p Hung jacket on the back of my chair, helmet in the corner under the desk. stuff that... even just riding around the block aint enough to cool down. I should harden up, cause while im in the lab its nice and cool cause the air condition is hard at work sucking any possible DNA away. But bet you would have to HTFU if you came to the states with me (-20 some days)... that is what i love. Heat kills me!

ok so continuing the heat complaining.... I moved onto the next stage of my work today much to my regret. This meant moving into a different lab... which unfortunately has had its air filter and air conditioning break down, which means im locked away in a sweltering room, and having to work right below the window, and to make matters worse, working in the lab means wearing the full gears (full body cover, hair cover, face mask, and gloves) which all in all amounts to a bloody sauna! :weep:

Well I had a quiet pootle down the Hunuas, to Mercer to SH22 and back again, lil'ol'hornet was buzzing around nicely and the roads were nice apart from the melted tar!

Had some literal sticky moments, the worse on the way back when my tyres going around a left 35kph decided to slide right across into the other lane!

Arse. Clenching. Moments.

I tussled with throttle, light braking and looking to where I was going and somehow managed to haul us back into the right lane. Very very scary.

Was a sedate ride back contemplating how fast it was and how easy it could have been all over rover! :bye:

Take care out there peeps! I couldn't believe after 6000km+ in the SI, that one little 230km trip could have resulted in me not riding back from it! :gob:

Well, yesterday I caught up with the pink triumph lady! Had to thank her in person for hooking up Gremlin and I with her olds and giving us a bed to kip in and the local knowledge on the best roads to ride!

So we have a quick natter and off we pootle, promised her it would be short and sweet since she wanted to walk the Panmure basin reserve! Had a quick japanese dinner at Mercury plaza (beef lunch box for me, sashimi and sushi for the lady).

Through the domain twisties down to Mission bay for a quick ciggy break for her and then off to the St Heliers GP. Banging off to home quick as easy as you please.

Was good to see Trump Lady get her wiggle on and she got her mojo going baby! Oh yea!

A good way to ease back into the Auckland styling ...

Well had a bit of a small trip around bike shops today with gijoe1313 after picking his bike up from a service, randomly met up with TOTO and I was firmly introduced with "The Hooligan".. I swear TOTO pops out of nowhere! But even through the helmet you can see his ear to ear smile from a days riding going on.

We had a look at some bikes but none took my fancy, I came home with intentions of having a look at a certain cherry red bike, with reservations, in the evening....

I am now happy to say that I have crumbled and have become a member of the swarm! A 2007 cherry red Honda Hornet 900! How can I fault this bike? For the price, I cannot! I had EVERY intention of going back to a sports bike but this bike.. it does everything. I pick the beaut up later this week and I absolutely can NOT wait.

I'm not sure if cherry red is the correct colour term, but that's what I thought of when I saw it! I will have to stop being a pussy and harden up on the ol' wind resistence though, but I think a small investment in a tiny screen is in the works!

Woohoo!

In your profile, what is the screen you have on your hornet? I quite like the look of that one.

Here are some pics from the previous owner, I'll be sure to get some great pics of it when it arrives at my house. The stats on it are as follows;

-Only 5,100km on the clock!
-Scorpion exhausts with baffle (keeping it in, love the understated sound it gives, nice and quiet).
-"Rider" seat (AMAZING feel, second Rider seat I've had my arse on and still in a league of it's own, and saves me taking a trip to Tauranga!)
-Basically as-new as it can get, I cannot fault the bike's finish at all! The owner was ex-harley rider and is going back to them, he was very particular about the chrome shiney bits on the hornet hehe.

The screen on my lil ol hornet is just a Givi screen, t'was on there when i bought it. Makes a significant difference on the open rd for such a little screen. Tuck down just a touch and the wind swoops over the top of the helmet, sit up tall and you really feel the difference. Takes a bit of adjustment to get them right, but once they are, they're great

It depends on the seat but it's usually around $450 - $500 (pillion seat included), money WELL spent for anyone on a bike for any amount of time.. you really have to sit on one to experience it. You can take your seat to them and they will get it right just for your arse and even fine tune it before finishing it off, my old one had the CBR1100XX logo embroided on it and looked bloody great too.

PM Cajun for info mate, he works there and will set you straight re. price etc.

I got *gasp* sensible. Went for a sensible bike, didn't realise I'd like it this much though! The ZX14 can wait for when I'm more financially and maturely suited for it (not to mention when I'm not working over 50 hours 7 days a week, so I can actually go on trips!).

Well praked after the ride, TOTO and I did the hard yards and gave our pride and joy a quick wash. I went overboard and did the 3 step Meguiars polish system on my Big Ol'Hornet.

I love the smell of carnuba wax!

Eventually zeocen turned up with his new Hornet and brought Gwinch along as well. Gwinch also went to town on his ride and even polished it as well. Very blingy!

Pic 1 : Going to the bike wash yeah!
Pic 2 : Er my eyes! They burn! The goggles! They do nothing!
Pic 3 : "If only you were a hawt babe in a t-shirt ... mmm sweater puppies in wet t-shirt..."

Just remember that when you finally reach the heights of your own incompetence! I await that moment, letting it mature over time like a fine wine, patient I am ...

Remember the biker gods also have their ways and means also my fine Katoom o'doom friend! :shifty:

Well, finally got around to posting up my photos on the loaner that those bastiches at Botany Honda inflicted on me!

I was getting my Big Ol'Hornet serviced on Tuesday and Dave there gave me the lend of a loaner bike to get myself around on.

So away I go, pleasantly surprised he gave me one of the new bikes to ride out on! I've already ridden the Hornet 600 and the Predator so away I go, thinking he had given me the 600 to ride.

Zipping away into traffic I was surprised how easily it pulled away, was also surprised how uncouth it was and felt like it always wanted to go faster. Meh, I thought and put it down to warming up and all that.

To Whitford I rode to get home and the bike blasted through the corners! By the 5th or 6th corner I was thinking "'ang on 'alf a 'mo, shouldn't this be screaming along at 10k ... it's only on 4K!"

I'm a slow learner.

So away I go and eventually Whitford comes and goes, I'm on the home leg via Clevedon area and then a muscle car comes into view ahead. I think he didn't like how his Chev was being followed by a bike.

He gassed it.

He gassed it really hard.

I was content to merely twitch my throttle hand and the next moment, I'm sliding back into the pillion seat and I'm right up the date of the muscle car pulling hard! :gob:

"Crikey! This is a bit more than I thought a 600 could do!" I could hear the car's engine and exhaust notes banging along, the look in the car mirror saw the driver suddenly seeing a bike filling it came as a surprise to him.

So I drop back (following distances and all) and I hear the car thunder off faster. Well you all know the familiar story, by the next 3 curves, riding normally, I was back on his tail again. Not worth passing since I was almost home and he was moving along at a fair clip.

Home.

Swung myself off the bike and looking at the rear section. CB1000R.

Oh :slap: :thud: No wonder.

Lovely bike, handles like Thor's Chariot through Valhalla, has such controllable power that gives it up faster than an unarmed crim surrounded by SWAT. Breezes through corners like a zephyr wind through the valleys.

Has the look of eagles soaring through space, in command of its area. The finish is Japanese perfection, Italian design ... sort of like the meeting of East and West but without the invading. The curves reminds me of a serious, sexy athletic woman - all business, but with that appreciation of hard work and power in a small package. Hot damn it looks fine.

Controls are simple, non-distracting ... the rev counter is most prominent, the speedo a mere afterthought, tucked into the left of the dash.

Very, very nice.

What bastards those Botany guys are for letting me play on one for half a day.

I want one to add to my Hornetto stable now! :baby:

well, i was out for a run, and realised it was just gone 6:30, so decided to drop by the library.... where there was a white, black and red hornet all parked up and waiting! really was a swarm! haha! then casper arrived... so they had a mixture, rather than a pure hornet swarm... can't let the hornets have all the fun!

Zeocen had his new baby there... nice and shiny, didn't have a real good look, but will have to at some stage!

I believe they were heading through St Heliers GP and then heading south... gorgeous night boys... hope you had a good night!

gijoe1313

Well, zeocen rocks up to my casa and we head off to meet the long Badger8 at the rendezvous tonight. A swarm! Three hornets waiting patiently when a chirpy female voice breezed over the metal railing ... GXSR Trace was out and about on her two legs!

A bit of a natter and suddenly the pop-thump of a motormacycle filled the street and Kasper rocks up. Long pony-tail and the unmistakable marque of B M W on her ride! :sweatdrop

Great ... a beemer on a swarm meet :msn-wink: So with that, quick intros, we abandon bikeless noob Trace (gosh we are so charitable!) and get on with some nosh for the lads (I had already eaten!)

Off to Ponsnobby for the chow ... indian, chinese and mexican I do believe!

We rode quickly to do Whitford and Maraetai, Kasper never having ridden those roads before! Filled up before hand at BP Botany and zeo left us at Clevedon (piker! :bleh:)

Badger took TEC and we rolled off into the hunuas, by the fading light of the twilight show. Nice roads and an easy pace got us to the hunua straights and Badger made us go right through the tight n'twisties. Good stuff!

Bombay made an appearance and we left it to take the non-boring night riding way home! Popped out at Takanini at the Shell station. Badger declaring he was well lost but did recognise some familiar sights.

Nice to meet a new rider on the swarm meet, interesting chap!

Next time, will be a nice long night ride! :msn-wink:

Photos coming!

Well with TOTO getting his 6F, it would be churlish of me to not ride with him to celebrate his graduation!

So I meet up with him at Shell Westgate and we pootle off up SH16, Woodcocks and checking out the new toll road. We peeled off to Orewa so TOTO could check out the girls at the local AA branch and then I had to buzz back for a dinner engagement!

TOTO was in fine spirits, even the damp roads out north were still fun to ride - I note he took due care going around EJK's corner and basically tootling along

Congrats TOTO on joining the ranks of not worrying about turning into a pumpkin past 10pm!

Well had fun tonight buzzing by meself after we split with GiJoe. Went over to the airport and saw some cool planes and even managed to observe the landing of a kangaroo plane.

After airport I decided piha would be interetsing ride so off I went to practice my 25kmh and 35kmh cornering skills in the dark. Went all the way to the end of the road. It was so dark I couldnt see the Lion rocke even with the hooligan light pointed straight at it lol.

back I went from piha and due to the cold breeze and me being underdressed again I decided to abandon my plan to finish Scenic drive and go home. The biker gods tho had other plans for me. at the end of the piha ride I went down some street and on a crossroads I saw a street with a funny name - Mountain rd. Hmmm I wondered - wonder what this mountain rd is like ...

On I went on Mountain Rd to discover the freakiest and curviest 1 lane road I have seen - same category as Twilight Rd , but 1 lane and more freaky :D That was true fun. And what do you know - it finished up on scenic drive...lol So I ended up doing scenic drive after all.

The hooligan took good care of me and even warmed my hand with the engine block a few times. Man I love that bike

P.s. did I mention I tested the new 600 Hornet after getting my 6F - the best handling bike I have ridden so far in the twisties. As flickable as my 250 hornet but enough power to pull a wheelstand on 1st and 2nd ...as I found without even trying lol. Looking forward to testing the Predator and a DRZ400SM tomorrow :D
